i notice the current thead "Sigma GVE vs Sigma VE" but i didn't want to hijack it, so i ask here.

what is the main, if there is any, between the SW9VE and the Allied Force version?

i ask this because last week i bought a sigma "sw40ve" and i love it so much that i want another, this time a 9mm, i have two options the SW9VE or the Alliend Force for $60.00 more, is the AF worth the extra $60.00 or not?

The AF just has a black slide and thats it. Some say that it is worth the extra $60 just to get the black slide.

do they said 'allied force" on the slide or is just the color?

I think they look good but I doubt I would spend the extra just for the black slide.

As has already been said, the only difference is the color of the slide. Mine does not say "allied forces" on it.

the normal ones have SW9VE engraved on the slide too.

Does that mean you consider the AF to be abnormal?

Seriously, it is odd that dealers want sooooo much for the black one when S&W's MSRP is $8.00 more for the AF. I personally like the bare SS version more.

I would say shop around, I have found them online and many other places for the same price just choose your color.

at academy in arlington tx today, i saw a af allied forces sw pistol 499.00 compared to 319.00- i dont think a black slide is worth 189.00 more it had a small box next to it that said survival kit ready, maybe that was the survival kit it comes with, id still just rather have the pistol and make up my own survival kit.

VE has stainless slide with standard "satin" finish, while Allied Forces model has black Melonite slide. Melonite is, for lack of an easier way to describe it, an American alternative to the tenifer finish used by Glock.

Can't believe they charge more for the Allied Forces model. When I bought my AF 9VE it costs $299 with 4 mags for either the AF or the two-tone. Although I currently own a two-tone 40VE, the AF Sigmas look better (to me) in black.

I bought the black one because the black gun looks better! I didn't even know it was the af model, I just thought it looked "cooler". They were the same price however.

I thought the Allied forces had a Black Melonite slide AND NO Magazine safety.

The lack of a S&W installed Magazine safety from the factory might be worth $60.

I kind of liked the black slide. But I wasn't willing to pay
the premium. Not only that, no one local had any of the AF
models. I prefer to buy local to avoid the FFL hassle and extra
cost. It was much cheaper to buy the stainless local, so I went
with it. There is no difference other than the black coated slide.
Now that I think about it, I wonder if they even make a AF in .40 S&W,
being as the usual NATO caliber is 9mm. I thought they did at the time,
but they don't issue the .40's to soldiers. IE: all the pistols that went
to Afghanistan were 9mm I'm fairly sure.
I guess not a issue being as you want a 9mm.
As far as I know, no VE Sigmas have the mag safety. I know mine
doesn't. You can drop the mag on mine, and it will still go bang.
"SW40VE with stainless slide".
BTW, $499 for a AF model is absurd.. I can buy a MP for not much
more than that. I paid $299 for mine, minus the $50 rebate + four
mags. Hard to beat $250 for a new .40 with four mags and a
lifetime warranty. :)
