I have a sw9ve that will not fire. It leaves no mark on ammo. I have returned it once to S&W for a broken striker that was repaired but it doesn't seem to have the same problem. I would like to remove the firing pin for a look. Could someone tell me how to remove firing pin?

Make the gun safe. Remove the slide. While holding your thumb on the rear cover plate, place a suitable sized pin punch in front of the lug on the striker, and behind the plastic spacer sleeve. (stiker guide on the f. pin/striker) Push forward (toward the breechface) on the sleeve, while putting downward/outward pressure on the cover plate. (caution, the parts under the cover plate are spring loaded) When the spring pressure on the rear plate is removed (by sliding the striker guide plastic sleeve slightly forward) the plate will slide down/off of the rear of the slide.
After the rear assy plate is removed the striker assembly can pulled out of the recess.

There are some videos available on youtube, etc. Most show the plate being pried off the rear of the slide. Don't do this. Once the pressure from the striker spring is removed from the rear plate.....by pulling the plastic sleeve forward slightly....the rear plate will slide right off.

After following instructions I removed the firing and as expected the tip of firing pin is missing. Should I send it back or replace the pin myself? I am the original owner,

I would contact S&W Customer Service. 1-800-331-0852 (have your model number and ser# ready when you call)

Perhaps they would send you a replacement stiker assembly free of charge. Or, if you would rather have them do the work, you could always request a warranty return label and send the gun back. Be sure you mention that this is the second time the part has needed replacement.
