Can the frames from the M&P pistols be switched?
In other words, if I have a M&P40 and a M&P 9mm Pro Series, can I swap the frames between them?
One person said "yes."

" The 9, 357 Sig and 40S&W frames are all the same. That way you aren't out too much for a gun you may or may not like."

Can anyone corroborate or dispute that?

Yes you should be able to, but the ejectors May be different. I know that with the newer 3 pin Glocks, the only difference in the frame is the ejector, so the M&P should be fairly similar

Everything is the same between an M&P40 and an M&P9, except the barrel.

The Pro has a longer slide though doesn't it?

.

I know I can swap my 9 FS and 9 Pro 5 frames. They are both IDPA competition guns but setup for different classes (mods affecting the frame only such as magwell and Apex FSS). By swapping I can choose barrel length for the desired class I want to run in on any given day

Much like calling a magazine a clip, you are caling a division a class.
Division: what gun you shoot
Class: How well YOU shoot the IDPA classifier

Thanks for the feedback. The reason I'd like to know is similar to IntenseImage. I can swap back and forth for different purposes. For now, it's just to know whether, if I should find myself with an abundance of parts they way I seem to accumulate Colt Government Model parts, I can assemble one gun from several.
I think I'm at the "try it" stage, but will carefully check the ejectors. And as Lost Lake notes, the Pro Series slide is longer.

Yes we all know what I meant. Time to move on
