sweet 40 compact

I had an M&P 40c for a long time and loved it, shot it a lot and did good with it, it shot better than me by a long shot. I sold it to a good friend, and after all I did love it so much that I bought a twin of it so I had 2 of them.
Fast forward and I shot a friends XD mod 2 45 compact and yep you guessed it I fell in love again, bought one and carried it and shot only it for a long time. Then I went shooting with my good friend who bought the M&P 40C. We were shooting at another friends ringing steel when I asked if I could shoot my old love. WOW talk about fun, the rhythm of the slide, the feel of the grip and the ringing of the steel. I never missed with that gun I have personally put over 8000 rounds through that gun.
I shot the twin and it just don't feel the same but than it only has 2000 down the tube. not sure but thinking I might ask my friend to trade. Would you trade a newer gun with less rounds for an old love?

If the old gun has that much sentimental value attached to it, then yeah, see if he'd be willing to swap, which I imagine he would be considering he's getting a newer gun with less rounds through it.

Otherwise, just keep shooting the one you've got until it breaks in or you get used to it enough to achieve the same level of performance.

We all have that "one...okay..more than one" gun we wish we never got rid of.

If I was your friend...I'd do that trade with you.

However, nostalgia caught up with me lately,

My first SW was the 40c ...loved it like you..

Sold it because I wanted a Glock " commence the bashing"...

Always regretted selling my 40c.

Fast forward, I now have a M&P compact 2.0 9mm.

Its my one gun I won't get rid of now..its reliable and accurate.
Trust it with my life.

Found killer deal on a old 40c 1.0 here locally, got it but after handling the 2.0's...
I couldn't shoot the 1.0 as good.

I say you try the new 2.0 40c subcompact if your buddy doesn't want to trade.

That way, you'll have old and new generations.
