do they make a flashlight holder that you can easily clip your light on or off the rifle while still keeping the mount on the rifle.
somthing like this only for the rifle.
Absent info on the rifle in question, it's hard to say --- there are any number of devices to attach lights to Picatinny rails &tc., and various interfaces to attach Picatinny rails to guns. Failing all else, there's always "the handyman's secret weapon", duct tape.
well the rifle in question would be the 15-22, hence in this forum. ive got a fenix flashlight that i keep on my person at all times. it is pretty handy. and id like to be able to slap it on the rifle when needed and remove it just as quick.
I've got two of these, one on the 15-22 and the second one on the STG-556. They work good and you can't beat the price. If I decide to put side rails on the PS90 I'll have to get a third one.
Insight, Surefire and Streamlight all make flat sided tactical rail lights (typically for handgun application) but they work on rifle rails too. I like em better than the typical round housings with separate ring mounts. I really like the Surefire X300. The QD Streamlight does not secure well on a 15-22 rail (at least the one I tried didn't) It rattled like a factory stock.
Hey Guys,
I've been looking for months for a cheap but quality light/mount combo. I recently picked up the latest issue of SWAT and there it was. For $58.96 you can get a surefire G2 light with a VTAC (Viking Tactics) mount in ur choice of colors. If you want the LED version ur looking at $88.96. Best bang for ur buck I have found. I plan on getting 2 for each of my 15-22s. Hope this helps.
phil, i know i havent been around much but thanks for posting that link up. i have been looking for that for a very very long time. probably about 2 years and i never could remember the name of it.
And to the OP, i use a 35 lumen cap light for a 400 yard walk uphill to my treestand, it gives about 25' of decent light. so that should give you something to go by on how bright you need your light. I have probably gone through every flashlight known to man (coon hunting, night fishing, coyote extermination) i like the one that you linked up, should definitely be bright enough for ya.
