do they make a flashlight holder that you can easily clip your light on or off the rifle while still keeping the mount on the rifle.
somthing like this only for the rifle.

Absent info on the rifle in question, it's hard to say --- there are any number of devices to attach lights to Picatinny rails &tc., and various interfaces to attach Picatinny rails to guns. Failing all else, there's always "the handyman's secret weapon", duct tape.

well the rifle in question would be the 15-22, hence in this forum. ive got a fenix flashlight that i keep on my person at all times. it is pretty handy. and id like to be able to slap it on the rifle when needed and remove it just as quick.

You might want to consider a dedicated light for the gun. A Streamlight M3 is cheapish, or you can go higher end too.

yeh im starting to think the same thing. a dedicated light.

i just dont think that light will be bright enough. ill probly just get another fenix light and rail mount and keep it on the rifle

Insight, Surefire and Streamlight all make flat sided tactical rail lights (typically for handgun application) but they work on rifle rails too. I like em better than the typical round housings with separate ring mounts. I really like the Surefire X300. The QD Streamlight does not secure well on a 15-22 rail (at least the one I tried didn't) It rattled like a factory stock.

yeh, but for the price the surefire lights arent that bright.

Cheap Quality Light/Mount

Hey Guys,
I've been looking for months for a cheap but quality light/mount combo. I recently picked up the latest issue of SWAT and there it was. For $58.96 you can get a surefire G2 light with a VTAC (Viking Tactics) mount in ur choice of colors. If you want the LED version ur looking at $88.96. Best bang for ur buck I have found. I plan on getting 2 for each of my 15-22s. Hope this helps. :)

Here's the link
Viking Tactics, Inc.

this is what i will be going with. fenix tk11 r5
285lumes on high, runs for 2.7 hours
60 lumes on low. runs for 14 hours
priced at $75 right now

with this mount
CAA UFH
priced at $30

so for rufly 105 plus tax. you will have a great tac light with 60 lumes for indoors, and 285 lumes for night hunting.

I ran across this link a year or so ago. He's got a pretty big selection of lights that aren't all the mainstream names.

phil, i know i havent been around much but thanks for posting that link up. i have been looking for that for a very very long time. probably about 2 years and i never could remember the name of it.

And to the OP, i use a 35 lumen cap light for a 400 yard walk uphill to my treestand, it gives about 25' of decent light. so that should give you something to go by on how bright you need your light. I have probably gone through every flashlight known to man (coon hunting, night fishing, coyote extermination) i like the one that you linked up, should definitely be bright enough for ya.
