Talk me into or out of the M&P 22 pistol.

My MP22 hates Federal, but happily devours CCI mini-mags. Now, if I could only get my hands on more mini-mags...

12 round mags are now available through Gallery of Guns.. There's another thread around here explaining how to use that site. They're sold through your local affiliated GS at their price. I got four for $147 shipped.

Still showing 99+ inventory as of 10:15 eastern time Sunday

So cross that significant major negative off your list...

Unfortunately, I live in NY and have been deemed unworthy of a 12 rd magazine.😂

I like M&Ps. I have enough ammo to keep shooting them for awhile but...

I not only want an M&P 22 but would like one as well but I'm hesitant on getting one.

The positives to me are: more trigger time for less money, threaded although I don't have a can its a nice options, similar to full size m&p instead of being a unique model like a Ruger Mark pistol, it would fill an emergency backup pistol role for me as well as being a good trainer, they are available locally for $380-$420 and perhaps a bit less online.

The negatives to me are: the sights (I want them to be the same as the full size), unavailable mags, the gun doesn't 100% feel like the full size/centerfire model, I don't like mag disconnect safeties but also don't like removing them when they "belong" in a gun.

So what do you think? I am finding more and more reasons to get one and am closer to picking one up. Perhaps I'm just waiting until 9mm is readily available again!

I hope you have a good supply of 22 ammo otherwise I would suggest locating the ammo. 22 lr is harder to find right now than a Shield.

someone on ebay bid 179.00 for two mags,,ouch.I think i'll buy a few mags at a normal price if i can, then buy the gun.

I've got plenty of 22LR ammo. Would rather shoot that in this crazy ammo shortage than 9mm.

If you enjoy M&P go for it.

I recently purchased a Ruger Hunter stainless 22. I installed a red dot and at 15 yards I am shooting 1 1/2 inch groups standing with no support.

I bought the Ruger to counter the high cost of 9mm and I find 22 is harder to find and has tripled in price vs double for 9mm through private sale on the internet.

I had a Ruger Hunter 22. Very nice pistol. I like hos they look with a red dot or small pistol scope on top.

I am concerned if I get a M&P 22 pistol...I will then want a suppressor.
