Talk to me about Tanfoglio pistols especially the Force Compact and the Force Carry

are these pistols worth the money ergonomics likes dislikes/pros or cons.

They look very similar to the Beretta PX4's.

Does not have to be the Force Carry or the Force Compact only but, about any model you have owned or had experience with etc.

I think Tranfoglio is a decent made handgun. I have one of their older CZ clones.
They've been around for awhile and have had their stuff imported under EAA and FIE. I've never had a complaint with mine and they were being used in IPSC.
Google them I'm sure they have a following!

Never liked them much. To me they were always a bad copy of a CZ. It's like a Fiero with a Ferrari body kit. While they look the part their triggers are horrendous and I'm not a fan of buying and then adding to or working on something to make it how I want it. It either is or isnt

Much to my surprise the Tanfoglios that I encountered are well made, accurate and an ergonomic delight. One year I came in second in the LV Area Police Games with a 9mm that I converted to a 40 S&W. I also have a 45acp that came with a 22 LR conversion slide/barrel. Both are tack drivers. I have tuned on others for the IPSC crowd and found not much had to be done to equal any other handgun in the competition. I think that they are often overlooked. Their clone of the CZ75 was the equal of the original in every way, albeit a little large. IMHO, a great duty/competition gun, not so great for CCW. ...................

EAA Witness P in 10mm

After multiple returns for feed ramp and slide lock issues, I traded it for a S&W Shield in .40 .

Trigger was also very sensitive. I spent 2 years trying to diagnose the issue and even had a local gun smith work on it.

No luck. Not a happy camper with EAA

I have a Tanfoglio TZ75 Series 88 9mm/.41 . I bought new in 1988. this model was used in competitive shooting matches. FFL I bought it from shot competitively and used that model, in fact both him and his wife used this same model shooting competitively .

He did what he called "A De-burring" every moving part was deburred by hand and he adjusted the sights till they were dead on in a clamped shooting vise, it shoots like a dream. 1.5 inch groups or better at 15 feet (5yds), 3 pound trigger smooth as glass. From a rest you can shoot .5 to .75 3 round groups.

I will never sell this pistol, its one my daughter will have when I'm gone !!

I have a Witness Limited competition pistol in 38 Super. I have NEVER had a FTF or FTE. The single action trigger is fantastic. It does take some getting used to with the slide running on the inside, like all CZs and the SIG P210. I'm very happy with mine and considering the purchase of a different model.

I,m with Arik, the only mistake he made was it is a Yugo under
the hood. 2nd rate stuff. With price of Shields and Rugers I don't
know why anyone would mess with cheap knock offs.

Nothing second rate in the three that I own....my 9mm and .40 have thousands of trouble free, very accurate rounds downrange in USPSA/IDPA.

They perform just as well as my real CZ's at a much lower cost AND the magazines interchange!!

Avoid at all costs.

Don't get me wrong-the pistols themselves are quality products. The prices are tempting too-how can you top sub-$500 prices for a Condition 1 , CZ pattern steel or poly frame pistol of your choice in any caliber, even .38 Super?

No,the problem is serious and singular.

EAA.

All they do is process the paperwork to get the guns into the US legally. After that, its Buyer Beware. I owned two 10mms, and I sold them because EAA just cannot be trusted.

I ordered two speed safeties. It took 4 weeks,and one of them didn't fit. I had to file it to size-and I'm no gunsmith. The reason was desperation: One only imagines how they'd botch an exchange if the purchase itself took over a $%&##mn month.

Next time I ordered a sight. The wrong one was shipped.The exchange was as painful as I expected. Four weeks later I got a tracking number. But nothing happened for another two. I called them back -

"oh, shipping must not have dropped it off."

Can't use CZ parts either-Tanfoglios use a proprietary firing pin block, trigger bar, sear and trigger plunger system .In some ways its an improvement over the traditional CZ pattern system, especially in trigger feel. But its for naught, because you can fix a CZ and you can't fix a Tanfoglio.

Shoot any gun often enough and you'll break parts. Glock, Beretta, Sig, CZ, etc. all have US support offices and staff to get you up and running. Tanfoglio has EAA, which is apparently a trailer in south Florida staffed by a blonde girl and a parrot. And I think the parrot's been drinking.....

In my opinion surprising quality and ergonomics. I have a Limited in 9mm and it is one of the most accurate and easy to shoot autos I've ever used. I don't have much use for it, too big for concealed carry, not a fit for hunting, and I tend to shoot S&Ws at the range. Also cannot speak to EAA support. Haven't used this one a lot but was very surprised and pleased with its function and accuracy the few times I've had it at the range. Based on that experience I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. . .and would very much like to have a 22LR conversion unit for it if such a thing exists.
