Getting back to the LSTs. I can remember once while we were, IIRC, in the Med. we came extremely close to capsizing. The inclinometer on the bridge registered the ship's roll to starboard at 57 degrees. I recall the ship laying up there mostly on it's side for a long time before it came crashing back down. Pretty scary. Luckily we got to change course to get out of the troughs in the sea.
