They're a distributor that would order a run of guns (several hundred) from one of the bigger manufacturers.Theyd usually have some cosmetic embellishments and a high price.
 
TALO is just a large distributor that can afford to order a run of a special model from companies like S&W and Ruger. I believe the minimum you have to order from S&W is 1000 units. TALO has to pay for all of them up front, or when they take delivery. Then they just sell them.

Many Talo editions are not much more costly than the standard item. The only one I have is a 22A-1.

It cost me a little less than $50 more than the standard version and the company that makes the stocks on it for Smith & Wesson charges $62 for them if bought separately. Accordingly, when all the upgrades are figured in, a Talo edition is a good deal IF you like those upgrades. Like all special-run guns, since there are fewer of them made, they usually hold their value well.
