I installed these on my 2.0 compact and it makes the grip feel so much better and less scratchy. I got the rubberized version instead of the skateboard tape version.

I have the exciting same gripmon my M&P 22 Compact and love them they give a very secure grip.
I also have had them on my Glock 22 for years.

Glad you like them. You have discovered probably the single best accessory there is for the M&P line of firearms. The 1.0 always felt to slick, to plasticy for me. The 2.0 was far better, but a bit to aggressive after a while. Add a Talon rubber grip, and all is right with the M&P world. :D

I have Talon grips on a Walther PPSM2 and an XDM.
They work great! Don't need it on my M&P; love the aggressive factory grip!

I put Talon rubber on my "1.0" and while it gives a good grasp, it does bulk up the grip noticeably. If I manage to wear it out, I will try taping it one area at a time to see if I can get a good hold with less thickness.

Talon Grips

I put the Talon Grips on my 2.0,I could not shoot very long because the grips were to aggressive,a world of difference

Jim, while this thread is about Talon, let me make a suggestion for you. Give an Agrip from Brooks Tactical a try when the time comes. They cost a bit more, but fit and feel is awesome, almost like suede leather. The more moisture there is on your hands, the grippier they seem to get. They're also very thin, so no added girth to your firearm.

For those with the Talon Grips on the 2.0, does the "sandpaper" grip on the bare frame help the grip/tape adhere better? I had Talon grips on the 1.0 M&Ps, but I have sweaty hands and I couldn't get them to stay on after even 100 rounds. I followed the directions to the letter, but my hands must be too sweaty. I would like to CCW my 2.0 with all clothes, but the grips are too aggressive and snag on sweaters and rub material off of sport jackets, so I'm considering putting on the rubbery Talons.

Gunny - the photos on the Brooks website make their grips look sandpapery. Is it just the photos? Regardless, how do these interact with different clothing materials? I like the idea of it being like suede leather and the more my hands sweat the grippier they get.

Thanks!

I've never had problems when applying with a hair dryer.

I have had great retention with Hogue Hand-All grips on my Shield. They can be a little stubborn to install, but once they are on they stay on. Really helped me with the grip.

I've never had a problem with the Talons sticking. I've even shot in the rain without issue. That said, if you have a problem with Talon grips not sticking or not fitting correctly, contact them and politely explain the issue. They have been known to replace them just because there was an issue. The rubber ones are great on the M&P's.

As to the Agrip, the pictures are misleading. They may look like the skate tape, but it's actually more like a thin suede leather in appearance, although I believe it's more of a rubber composite. As I said, the wetter your hands, the grippier they feel. If sweaty hand are an issue for you, these are awesome and may be the answer to your problem. If installed correctly (by the way, take your time with these), they even show the underlying texture of your firearm.

The first pic is of the rubber Talon, the second is of an Agrip on a Glock 21.

I have Talon rubber grips on most of my too many polymer framed handguns. I have had no problems with any of them and some have been in use for several years.

First, throw away the small alcohol towelette which Talon provides. It isn't very good for the task.

Next, use a cheap one inch or smaller paint brush and some 70-90% rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. Brush the alcohol on generously and then wipe vigorously with a terry cloth rag. The napping on the terry cloth will get into crevices or grooves on the grip.

Repeat at least once. This removes all the hand and gun oils so the rubber grips will stick well.

Then follow Talons recommendations on applying the grip tape with a hair dryer.

I've used this method on PPQs, Glocks, H&Ks, FNSs and other guns with success. Good luck.
