Tapco vs Magpul Ar Magazines

Im looking to get a few new magazines for my AR is one better than the other?

There isn't much of a price difference, so that isn't an issue

never had tapco but i have 4 p mags and love them, the look and feel are great, i think polymer is the way to go.

I think this is a bit of a Ford vs. Ferrari comparison. One may work fine enough but one is sweeeeeeeet. I have a Tapco AK mag and while it works, it is rough. All my AR Pmags just pop right in and out and are supposed to be near indestructible. The AK mag of course goes in different and AK's all seem to have varying degrees of slop to have to deal with and are all made cheap as all get out so I don't want to kick the Tapco too hard. It only needed a little sanding to be smooth feeding and fitting. But the Pmags just worked from the first minute. And I like the dust covers for keeping pressure off the feedlips when in storage. You might also check out Lancer mags. I bought a couple and they are pretty good also. I'm thinking of getting a twenty rounder for range use on a sandbag.

EDIT: C Products stainless steel mags… I'm not sure what to say. I bought four of them and only one worked. They sent me new followers and springs and now three work. I was tired of taking them apart and test fitting for function so now one is still in parts. They are very thin walled to keep the weight similar to aluminum mags and allow the use of slightly longer bullets than will fit in any other magazine. The coating on them comes off with your finger nail. I guess buy one to try if you want to use heavy for caliber bullets like higher than 75 grain or so.

Agree, given a benchmark for Poly mags like Magpul, why buy others if the price is similar.

Yes it was with free shipping. But wish I would have seen this site earlier lol

The Magpul hands down..I run them in my Colt..I also have the 30 and 20 round Colt mags as well..But the Magpuls work flawlessly..
Most of the furniture on this Colt is Magpul..I also run the Pmags in my Sig 556 and once again they work flawlessly..:D

Was that at a local shop or on the net. The cheapest I have found was at Primaryarms.com $14.20 with free shipping.

thanks,
Greg

14.xx on 44mag.com and free shipping also. got mine in 2 days really happy with them

botach tactical. free shipping over $100 plus 20% discount on magpul stuff with coupon code "magpul". said and done it came out to $125 for 9 pmags/ 2 mag couplers/ and an 11 slot rail, shipped. price per pmag was $11.40!

Do you mean the Tangodown Arc? I am not even sure Tapco makes an AR mag but if they do it is almost certainly a ***. The Tangodown Arc is a good mag equal to the P-Mag.
