I have a Taurus PT111 G2 9mm I needed a spare magazine for but IMHO the mags for that inexpensive gun are stupid expensive. I saw on a Taurus forum that Sig P228 mags work and I found a cheap deal on some so I got a couple. They hold one more than the factory mags and stick out that much but otherwise seem to fit just fine. When tested they also worked fine except didn't lock open on the last round. Racking by hand on an empty mag they easily lock back on empty. Could have been the budget Fiocchi hard ball I was using. As for not locking back I guess it's not such a big deal as it will be my back-up mag and when that's empty I won't have any more anyhow. Incidentally, for an inexpensive compact I think the Taurus feels and shoots amazingly well.
Additionally, I tried the Sig mag in my S&W 669. It won't lock in but when held in place seems a perfect fit. There seems to be enough medal to cut an appropriate slot for the Smith without effecting the function for the Taurus.
