This is the first year I've filed electronically. @ a week and a half ago. I don't know what to expect time wise.........

Gotta file first... I wait until April 14th. No use in paying a bill before it's due.

Question: Did you provide the necessary information for direct deposit into a bank account and did the tax program provide you with an ID# to trace you're refund? (It's called a DCN - Declaration Control Number) Most of these programs do, that's a long number that you can input into a government web site that will tell you when your refund will be deposited. I checked that site 2 days after filing and they gave me that info. Check your program, you should find this information. And if you're waiting for a paper check that will take longer. Let us know how you make out.

I've had the same CPA do my taxes for the past 7 years. She's never been wrong on the date of return.

I'm self-employed, so I try to pay "just enough" tax during the year so I don't owe the gov't any additional and don't get a refund.........that way, my $$ stays in my pocket throughout the year and not the Feds.

The place that did our taxes filed it electronically for us and said we should have it by Feb 14-16th, it's the 17th and it's still not here. Also, what the heck happened to the "Make Work Credit"? It was $400 a person and the way I understood it we were suppose to get $1000 this year but somehow it was gone. My wife and I sure could have used an extra $2000 this year to catch up on some bills.:(

For the last couple of years I have used TaxAct.com and have had great results. I got my state refund,(Missouri), back in a week and I got the federal return back in two weeks. They have a page where you can click on "wheres my refund" and it will tell you if and when it was mailed out and the expected date of arrival. They have been right on the money both years. It was free to file my federal taxes and it cost me 17.95 to file the state. I am quite pleased with their performance.
Peace,
gordon

That's right.

The rest of you will get yours as soon as Chuck and I send in enough to cover the checks. :D

Nope, efiled mine in January, had my state refund deposited within three days and the Federal within five.

What this thing called a tax refund you speak of??

I brought my two or three boxes of tax paperwork to tax attorney the beginning first week of Feb after I received all my paperwork from my pensions, social security, IRA's, banks, etc.

Told him that there was no rush on him figuring out how much I owe as I am not mailing checks out till the last minute.

Filed the 12th, IRS accepted on the 13th and its estimated to hit my account on the 28th...... about the same as last few years..... if the 28th holds true...... it's already spent..... my wife wants a new guitar amp and I got this Colt Commando Special, 2" barrel with rubber Colt grips 38 special.
