Gotta agree with that. Here's my philosophy, guided by that quote.

My favorite quote is John Wayne: "Life is hard. It's harder if you're stupid."
 
I don't mean to hi-jack this thread but if we're mentioning favorite quotes, here's one of mine. As near as I've been able to determine, though often credited to Dante, I believe it was actually a statement that was derived from what was actually written.

"The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in times of great moral crisis maintain their neutrality"

I believe it was John F. Kennedy that attributed this quote to Dante. In Dante's Divine Comedy there was something written along these lines and I believe later morfed into the modern terms with which we are familiar. From Dante, those who "non furon ribelli né fur fedeli" — neither rebelled against nor were faithful to God — are located directly inside the gate of Hell, a region neither hot nor cold; the lowest part of Hell, a frigid lake of ice, was for traitors.

Regardless of where the quote originated I like what the thought represents. Pick a side brother!

That quote was hung in the training room at the University of North Dakota when I was a wrestler there in the 60's. I read it every time I went in there. Great quote.
 
while Teddy Roosevelt did a great many things for the sportsman and conservation, I think you all should also realize that he was one of the pioneers of the liberal progressives.

Now on the subject of quote's I was always kinda fond of "Learn from history or be doomed to repeat it".
