Tell me why I shouldn't replace

Are you unhappy with your Shield. No since in keeping a firearm you don't like or believe in. If it doesn't work for you than absolutely you should replace it.

I just sold my Shield 1.0 with night sights, Talon Grip and Apex duty/carry kit and a boat load of mags. I got a Sig 365 X Macro and a Canik Mete mc9. I like both of them better for different reasons. I sold my M&P 2.0 compact also because the slide lock/slide release on the passenger side does not work for a lefty. Get what works for you.

Let me answer your question with some questions. Why do you feel you need to? Do you shoot the Shield poorly? Is the Shield harder to carry? Has the Shield been unreliable? Does the P365xl fit your hand better? Or, is it because the xl holds more ammo? Do you shoot the xl better? If not, why would you trade a gun you shoot well for one you shoot poorly just because it holds more ammo? Many things to consider.

If you haven't shot the P365X yourself, you're asking a very subjective question (for all the reasons mentioned above).

Find a range that has the P365X as a rental and shoot them both side-by-side. If you like the P365X better, then Trade/Sell the Shield. If you need to convince yourself that the P365X is nicer and shoots better than the Shield (in your hands), forget it.

If you're simply looking for an excuse to buy a new handgun... Keep the Shield and add the 365.
