Tell us about your worst flying experience.

Well, while aggravating at the time, it sounds like a adventure to me!

Well I took off from 2 airports but NEVER LANDED AT ONE.:D First time we went to Cincy to go skydiving. Had to throw me out of the plane but it was fun.
Second time was when a friend who has a small plane invited me to fly, small air field near Kieth Brown's . 10 minutes into the flight engine QUIT:eek: and he steered to land in a field. We got caught on a farm fence trying to land and the plane was totaled.
So yes. I have LEFT two airports but never landed at one.

Two travel stories, among many, stand out in my mind.

Soon after 9/11 I was sent to Fort Lauderdale on a one day trip. Knew I would have some time to connect with a pal so packed a couple cigars, lighter, and cigar punch. Was carrying a 14 shot autoloader on board.

No problems from DCA but when clearing security for the return I was directed THROUGH the magnatometer. Reminded brand new TSA folks that I was sure to set it off...and did. They asked me to empty my pockets. (Yes, they did!) Upon spying the cigar cutter they told me it was forbidden because it's a razor blade. I was aghast and noted I had a 14 shot gun on my hip. Made no difference to them. Surrendered the cutter and still amazed at what transpired.

Was flying the US Airways Shuttle from DCA to Boston/Logan and settled in for a nice trip with several beers. (Gun was checked. :p) On final approach to Logan the pilot was waved off due to weather and diverted to Manchester with similar result. Tried Albany and Syracuse before finding a hole in the sky at Rochester. Spent the night there and was farther from Boston than when I started. As an aside, ever been the first passenger on a plane that sat out all night in a NY winter? Brrrrrrrrrr.

Be safe.

Hmmmmmm?

More details re: that "36 hour nonstop," please. Don't know of any commercial aircraft that can fly that long. :confused:art

Typo perhaps?

Thank you.

Be safe.

Oh my, sooo many!

There was a 36 hour nonstop trip from Kuwait to St. Louis that began with a bomb scare and de-planing before we ever took off.

There was a five hour "flight" from Denver to Philly on Southwest in a middle seat mascarading as a coffin.

There was a nonstop flight from Tokyo to Denver where my wife forgot to upgrade our seats from coach to business.

I'm not sure which is my favorite.

As to big D`s having to give up his cigar cutter while keeping his pistol on his hip, ya know these people vote too! Then again, maybe the agent smokes cigars. Common sense in this country is in short supply. On my humble job as a night watchman we also had nitpickers that knew all the rules that they could harass people with, with their "power". They would stop production at big money cost to the company because they had zero common sense. "Just doing muh job" Heh, heh.

I was on US Air flight to connect in Chicago for final destination into Madison, WI. Connecting flight crashed on take off. We were told "Mechanical Difficulties", but eventually got to Madison.

US Air flight delayed into Charlotte, NC, but we were all assured that out connecting flights were "being held for us". As we land, I note a plane taking off. Find out 10 minutes later it was our connecting flight. One day business trip turns into two days wearing the same clothes. THAT was my last flight on US Air.

I have had several "challenges' on Delta flights, but in every instance Delta people have made a special effort to fix my "problem".
