Congrats on the purchase! I've been hunting a good new AR-15 myself, and would like an M&P. I just turned down a Colt at my local Wal-mart priced at $1096.00 plus tax. The only reason I left the colt is because the 2013 models don't come with (2) magazines, strap, or the rifle cleaning kit. May ride back this evening just to see if it's still there!

Nope, you may as well not even waste ur gas or time. If you live in a town where the evil black rifles are seldom seen on the shelves. Its almost a guarantee that one has already found a new home.

Lol, true indeed. Really would like to wait for a new, older model that includes all of the goodies
Not to mention, they had a Colt about a week ago with some nice FDE furniture installed for the same price. I wasn't present for that one, or it would be in my safe right now. I'm a sucker for FDE.They had PMAG 30 Gen M2 mags and I bought a couple of them and 200 rounds of Remington 223 for $107.
Hated to spend .50 a round on 223 but I didnt want to get the gun and not have anything to shoot out of it till I found something.

Congrats! What brand what model did you get? New or used. And if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for it.. I'm trying to decide if I want to buy another one just to have as a investment and don't really know what a good deal is anymore with pricing as it is.. My first was a used BushMaster but one that was made in Maine.. One of the good ones. Enjoy yours! George

Its the 1/9 unfortunately. But for all I am going to do with it, Which is shoot holes in stuff at 75 yards, it will be fine.
Gentlemen, our rifles are not AR's, they are not built by Colt or Armalite. I really think if more people start calling them what they are, MSR's (modern sporting rifles). We can start getting past this "Assault Weapon" nomenclature. If your rifle says AR on the side then it is an AR. If it says M&P on the side then it is an M&P or a MSR.
