Terror Attack In Paris

Not to derail this but just to respond to the above post. Israel doesn't do PC when it comes to security but I'm sure a lot of people here would complain about it if they lived there. How do you like the TSA here? We complain here about them and they still have to be nice. In Israel they'll tell you to go pound sand..... if you don't like it don't fly.

I haven't flown in a while, but being nice was definitely not a high priority for them. And Big Sis did tell us to go pound sand.

The latest reports identify the three as French nationals, including two brothers born and raised in Paris. I don't think you can commit war crimes against your own country in your own country, no matter what your motives are. And handling a military weapon semi-professionally doesn't turn murder into combat, either.

Though I agree with the aboveand even though they were born as French citizens--doesnt mean they were French. Same as those somails born here who have been killed fighting with the isis **** group. Born here but never an American. Im tired of that.. IF--they dont want to become a part of their Country? GET OUT...

Where did you see that they got them? I know they think they know who they are, but last I heard they were still at large.

I have a feeling they won't be taken alive.

Last night--the youngest of the three-turned itself in to the authorities. I havent heard any extra yet.

ABC News reported "[a]s news of the killings in Paris reached the Middle East, celebratory gunfire was reported in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon".

Figures...And yet--our govt still sends them money???????????>??

Here we have a commander in chief who refuses to even call ISIS by their name. He insists on calling them ISIL. I suppose he doesn't want to anger them?

I call them: Daesh when i can think of it. I heard they hate that term. :D

I was in Paris about two months ago. If you read the news, you'll see that they have (gun, and non gun related) terrorist attacks on a regular basis. Google it and you'll see that the terrorists drive cars into crowds, etc.

The French take this sort of thing very seriously in my opinion. For example; when I was in the Louvre, I saw a fire team of fully-camo'd French Marines/Commandos walking around in full battle-rattle. Notre Dame? Fire team. Metro (several different times/trains)? Fire team. Eiffel Tower? You get the picture. Everywhere. Day and night.

oh, OH, And like I was telling my wife; "...those are just the ones you SEE..."!

Same thing happened when i was in Germany when the USS Cole was attacked. I saw Gebirgs and other Jagers at the Hauptbahnhof in Heidelberg--and at Frankfurt airport.

I was stationed in Germany from 1970 to 1973 when the Bader-Meinhof gang was blowing things up. they were doing these things for quite sometime. there was always the police and submachine guns in the airport at Frankfurt. the first year when you were at Rhein Mein AB you got to be a junior sky cop. sometimes when the rumors were considered viable you had to go to the sky cop hq and they gave you an m-16 and some magazines of ammo and stuck you out on the flight just in case for a few hours.

It has already come to the U.S., but our "leaders" refuse to acknowledge it. We allowed a radical Muslim physician to be commissioned in the U.S. Army. Despite unacceptable performance of his physician duties, nothing was done and he was promoted to the rank of Major because some apparently feared being called racist if this man had not been promoted or drummed out of the service. When he finally acted on his beliefs, killing numerous serviceman and women at Ft. Hood, yelling "Allah ahkbar" our President called it "workplace violence".

Concealed carriers are not a match for well trained terrorists armed with military quality weapons, but it certainly would have made their rampage more difficult to carry out. A few well covered individuals with handguns would certainly have slowed down these terrorists, and possibly reduced the number of dead and wounded and given the authorities a bit more time to reach the scene. But France, like all of the western European countries prohibits concealed carry (even Israel makes it very, very difficult to legally carry a concealed handgun).

Some parts of the U.S. have a significant percentage (as much as 6 to 8%) of the populace having concealed carry licenses, although most states are much lower (IL is less than 1%) so the odds of having anyone in the area when the terror incident begins is small, but at least it is not zero.

My 5-round J-frame, or my 8 round Ruger LC9s will not be much against an AK or and AR, but I would rather go down fighting like a man than cowering like a sheep brought to the slaughterhouse. And just maybe my fight will save someone else in my family who uses my action to make a safe getaway.

A while back I upgraded to an uGly plastic pistol that holds quite a few dum-dum bullets. A clunky SKS is out freezing in the vehicle as I write this. Odds are astronomically against needing them, but if something ever hits the fan I'll feel much better.

Besides, I've got Chuck Norris on speed dial.

God bless the USA.

Rhein Main 1985 Bombings

I do recall hearing of some of their activities. I also recall that most of those Baader Meinhoff trash ended up dead too.

Thoughts and prayers for the victims of Paris. The French people know that the people of the U.S.A. have stood with them in the past, in the present and in the future. All civilized nations should stand shoulder to shoulder with France. In 2001 France along with many other countries stood with the U.S. on 9/11/2001 and many stated "We are all Americans, today". Well, today we are all French. God Bless.

As for the extremists - I don't know why we ignore what they tell everyone - it is a Jihad (a holy war) and it has been going on since the 12th. century and the Crusades - it is time to wake up and deal with the facts as presented.. I know of no civilized religion that professes the killing of people as a way to get to heaven.

I think it is long over due that we firmly deal with this issue on a united front.

The murderous evil perpetrators are dead. The innocent victims are being buried. The talking heads are wrapping up the post-mortem on this incident. And a million people from all walks of life marched in Paris yesterday in a display of unity in opposition to Islamic extremism. Now let's double down on killing off the groups who encourage this sick behavior. I am Charlie.
