The Ammo crybabies are jumping for joy.

I've NEVER....

Its the whiners and crybabies who were calling for higher ammo prices to curb the shortage and now they are getting their wish. Higher prices. You are going to see more ammo on the shelf but no one will be buying it due to cost. That leads to a crash in prices and a loss in ammo manufactures who cannot make their required ROI. This will take us back to a shortage again with even higher prices.

I've never heard ANYBODY say they wanted higher prices. I can't afford to hang out with people like that.:D

I am not going to the shooting range anymore besides keeping myself trained with my firearm for concealed carry. I just can't afford it anymore.

Do you reload?

I am not going to the shooting range anymore besides keeping myself trained with my firearm for concealed carry. I just can't afford it anymore.

I'm changing to cast bullets. I'm in a learning curve but it's cheaper, more available and I'm able to stock up better for future problems. So I didn't stop shooting for fun, I'm just going at it a little differently.

That loud wooshing sound you heard was the point of this thread, flying right over my head....

In all my travels chasing ammo I have never not once heard someone complain about ammo being too cheap, thus causing the shortage..

The hoarders will eventually give up, and there will be plenty for everybody who has room to store it.

So, storing ammo is different the hoarding ammo?

I like that twist of words, now when someone accuses me of hoarding I will correct them.

I am a storer! lol

Cabella's Ammo Prices

Cabelas has been reasonable
9mm 50box $15
CCI mini mags 100 box $9
PMC 223 20box $9
American Eagle 223 50 box $25[/QUOTE]

I went by Cabela's last Friday and they had;
American Eagle 100 box of 9mm for $37.
Winchester White box 40 cal at $40 for 50 rounds.

About 6 weeks ago Cabela's did have CCI mini mags 100 box for $8 (limit one box per day).

When I saw the low CCI prices back in May I thought they were trying to help calm things down. Guess these latest prices kind of kill that theory. I'm a nooby gun owner (7 mos), but I thought American Eagle and White box was supposed to be the cheap stuff. I bought White box 40 cal 100 round at Walmart in early May for about $25 (and I thought that was high), not even close to what Cabela's is asking. The worst part is that I went by Blythes in Highland, Indiana today and their prices were even higher!
Sure thought everything would have calmed down by now. Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be a special price mark down for Christmas. In the mean time, I guess I better get some snap caps.

Maybe the real whiners are happy now with their anti-gun lobbying by finding another way to mess with gun control.

Like said above, time to reload!

As for 22LR ammo, I don't care what it costs because I haven't seen any for sale locally for at least 6 months now so price means nothing. Not crying, just stating the facts!

Oh yeah, I forgot. Cheaper Than Dirt had 500 round 22LR bricks in stock if you're willing to pay $199.59/brick. (Armscor) If 500 rounds are too much for you they are also selling 100 rounds of CCI Mini Mags for only $59.59!!!!!

Hoarders have no use for the objects they store and will not let go of them if they do. They are mentally ill individuals.

"Storers" - or more correctly "Preppers", make hay while the sun shines and store that which may be needed in the future, use what they have intelligently, and replace their stock judiciously.

Preppers have the luxury of time. If Store "A" is charging too much, the Prepper is not under any pressure to buy anyway as he knows store "B" or store "C" will, sooner or later, have the desired goods at an attractive price.

"Preppers" of course, have been vilified by the liberal media and characterized as clowns, crackpots and doomsday sooth-sayers. About 1 in a million are truly worthy of Reality Show Status. The rest of us just don't like the idea of running out of T.P., fuel and ammunition.

True Preppers are nothing more than adults who learned their lesson from the Boy Scout motto: "Be prepared".

As one who was prepared for this current turn, as one who has an abundance of ammunition, I can correct anyone who wants to label me.

Or I can ignore them, shrug my shoulders, grin from ear-to-ear, and go shooting. :D

At $1.06 a round for .32-20s, I can't afford to shoot cheap beer cans down by the riverbank. I have to shoot imported beer cans. Do you have any idea what that costs?!

Time to apply for foodstamps;)

Reload & home brew. But you may have to go dumpster-diving for targets:eek:

I've walked into several out of town WalMart stores over the last 2 months, and My timing was spot on the money.
Saw a couple dudes hanging out near the sports counter, and asked them if ammo was about to be sold.
Apparently, the trucks were being unloaded, and someone promised those guys some ammo sales, if patient.

I decided to make myself #3 in line, though, after a 1/2 hour or so, a W/M security employee tried to talk us into leaving and coming back later.
Before she had finished yapping, the W/M dock supervisor walked up to the sports counter with his arms just full of W-W and Remington boxes. It was nice to be able to buy 3 bricks of W-W 22lr ammo, and at a reasonable price.
More recently, the Mrs and I scored 6 boxes of Tul-ammo .223's from a local W/M.........nice to have extra on hand when folks come to visit, and enjoy some range time.

FWIW: I'm told that 6-7 AM and 6-7 PM are good time frames to take a stroll over to the WalMart sports counters.

BTW: I have been an avid handloader since the early 1970's, though one cannot handload any rimfire cartridges, plus I use the steel cased 223's in My mini-14 so I don't have to pick up my mty cases all over the range.
The only centerfire cartridges that I don't handload are the 380 acp and 25 acp, since I use very few of those rounds.

If people want to complain on and on about how ammo prices are going through the roof then that is their wish to do so we can't stop them complaining. Even though Walmart & Military exchange for my area is out of 9mm/45 and 22LR ammo they say it's because of what's going in the encomy and so on.

I have been trying to unload the 9mm, .45 and 22lr stock that has been coming in on a regular basis. Having a hard time selling 9mm for $.31/rd, .45 for $.41/rd and 22lr for $.08/rd. So from where we stand, the market is flooded. These prices are not far off WM. Forget .40's, cant give them away there are so many in the area. The wholesale prices havent changed in the past 6 months, but its still hard to compete with WM. As for Academy, They have decent prices but not the stock of WM.
