Had this posted earlier in the year as my latest project. Found a guy up in Vermont not "too" far from my place and this is the finished product. He does a Matt Blueing after bead blasting. I am satisfied with the outcome..it does look a lot better that when I got it!!

I'm generally not one who favors refinishing, but in this case, oh, refinishing did not hurt the value one bit! That thing was a basket case! With so much pitting and gouges, a high polished blue or plated finish was definitely not a good idea, so matte blue or parkerizing were certainly the best and most ecomonical options. I think it turned out as a good shooter grade revolver.

Nicely done. Good to see a neglected piece transformed back to a nice shooter. I would like to know if the author thinks the money spent on a project like this was worth it?

The total cost was...$150!! Greg at American Blueing does the Matt Blueing for $100 and only charged me $50 for the work blasting it down. Well worth the cost and travel time for me since can't find anyone in New Jersey to work on guns anymore..
