The beginning of a collection

Welcome to the Forum. Hang around and you will learn a lot, and get enticed into buying more and more S&W's, (it's a sickness, but a nice one).

A lot of us have liked the M&P's, especially the 2" ones.
A 3 screw, 4 screw, and 5 screw.

That's a pretty trio! Love the grip adaptors too. Are those Tylers?

Welcome Sean

Probably shipped in about May, 1947.

Could be as early as the spring of 1949, but some with nearby serial numbers didn't leave Springfield until early 1950.

It seems that a lot of 2" units were shipping during that period. It is also in the approximate serial range of some of the scarce .32 M&Ps.

Very neat! Thanks for the info. Now I just need a '48 to go between them.

Now see. There you go. When you feel the euphoria as you count out a stack of hundred dollar bill for the 1959 Model 48, just remember, there is help.

Just call S&WAA, tell them your name and say..I'm an addict and I need help.;)

'Tis a slippery slope ya stand upon, laddie. Prepare to find many things here you'll find ye must have afore too long.
Pad your wallet thickly, for that slippery slope will induce many falls...A few years ago, following a 12 year hiatus, I sold my only two S&W's...My immediate regret has caused the further acquisition of more than 200 new inhabitants of my paperweight vault......Ben
