The BEST Hamburger ! ! !

In Reno,NV top two :

Juicy Burger - messy but that old time basics, Fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and great taste Fries extra As an added perk they deliver!

Awful Awful burger (downtown Nugget casino) Fresh veggies and served on a LB of fries

I like just the "basic" burger - no secret sauce, unusual strange items on it

You ain't lived til u ate a garbage grinder at Summit Lake Lodge on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.

Honestly,I won't go out for a Burger.Just seems so wrong when I can cook one anyway we like.I'll go out for other things.

Anybody remember Lums? The last one closed a year or so ago.

I remember LUMS, but from a long, long time ago. Back in the High School days.

I thought their claim to fame was Hot Dogs? I seem to remember red and white striped table cloths??

Best "Greasyburger" is Tommy's in L.A. The original has the most atmosphere.

Best "gourmet burger" was a place called Hamburger Henry's (NOT Hamburger Hamlet!) in Belmont Shore (Long Beach, California).

Best "Hole-in-the-wall" burger: The gas station in Huntsville, Utah.

They were known for their Hotdogs and Olly Burgers.

The last one was in Davie Fl. and is now the Flashback Dinner.Too bad,They were OK.I tried the new place and they were over priced and not so good.

the best burger i have ever eaten was at the double D diner in the town of washington illinois were i live its so good its heaven on a bun.

That would be the ones I grill up at home. Start with a 1/2 pound patty of ground buffalo grilled for about 18 minutes. Add 4 slices of applewood smoked bacon, a thick slice of sharp cheddar and a slice of raw vidalia onion. Throw it all on a toasted onion roll and you've got the best burger going!

Of the current chain offerings, I prefer Hardee's, Burger King is good too. Non chain burgers can be great or horrible, so if I haven't had one from there before, I avoid them. There's a local place that used to be a poolroom, & sold food. Now it's strictly a restaurant, everyone raves about their burgers. i think they're horrible, they mix about half meat & half bread into the patty. Breadburger, like I said horrible, guess there's no accounting for taste.

In Texarkana, we have a little joint called The Green Tomato. I really like their burgers. Not too big, maybe 1/3#, griddle cooked and juicy, and devine onion rings. As far as a chain, Chili's has a jalapeno bacon cheeseburger with triple thick bacon that's pretty tasty.

In Del Rio Texas we have Salas's Better Burger. They have been in the same location for around 25 years. The dad started it and the kids took over and now grandkids are starting to work the counter taking orders. Great burgers, onion rings, and a jumbo fries is about a pound or so of potatoes.I have been eating there about ten years and have never gotten my order wrong.if you're ever down this way, give them a try!

The best I remember is from the Moose Jaw Bar and grill in Frisco CO.....35 years ago.(before it all got Californicated). Also when I lived in Glenwood springs, CO; a place called Charcoal burger in West Glenwood. a good ol' mom&pop place.
I think Culver's has the best burger of the chain burger joints.

Locally - Milo's! It's an acquired taste - and nostalgic. They started as a walk-up hut for lunch-only - always a line - and they frequently ran out of beef or buns. Same great sauce - grilled onions - but a local chain now. Grocers carry their 'Southern-style' sweet tea... actually, almost a syrup! Another local chain - great for lettuce/tomatoes, etc - and shakes - Hamburger Heavan.

For national chains, if you like grease, 5 Guys. You can get a great burger - with jalepenos, even - from Red Robin - a good basic burger from Johnny Rocket's. Great shakes/malts, too - both places. Dinner for two at either will require financing - they are proud of their products.

Now, don't laugh... I really like the premium burgers at Hardee's - with a senior drink - affordable!

A chain that I'm really impressed with recently is Smashburger. I first encountered one of their restaurants in the Denver area about a month ago, and discovered they've opened a few in the metro Phoenix area. You have your choice of 1/3 or 1/2 lb. of meat in burgers fixed just about any way you want. Great meat and fixin's. I guess if you order a burger just the way you want it and you're disappointed with what you get, there's no hope for you! At any rate I favor their "All American" cheeseburger, which is pretty much the way I like them - hamburger, American cheese, onions, pickles, mustard and catchup. We ate at the one at 20th St. and Camelback here in Phoenix, and it was great.

P.S. I forgot to mention the Heart Attack Grill in Chandler, AZ. I don't know if they are still in business now that their 500-lb spokesman died of a heart attack, but they had some hellacious menu choices, and the "nurse" waitresses weren't too bad, either!

yeah, smashburger is my favorite chain burger, hands down.
i'm ashamed to say i haven't been to lankford's yet, but i've been to most of the other good ones in houston, and that is on my to-do list!

The best chain burger- Dick's Drive In in Seattle. There's about six of them in the Seattle area. The menu hasn't changed since the 60's.

The best store bought ever- the Kobe Burger at The General Store in Hali'imaile, Maui. A half pound of beef, med. rare, melted white cheddar, and just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, and onion. Dang, now I'm hungry!
