The car you wish you still had.

1955 1st series (same body style as the 1954) five window deluxe cab pickup. 235 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree.

1963 Ford Fairlane with the 289 High performance engine, 271 HPfrom the factory. 4 on the floor. Rear end 3rd member same size as as full size Ford. Factory 3:89 rear end. My brother & I could swith out the 3rd member in about an hour, we had a 4:56 (IIRC the ratio correctly) third member set up if we were going to race (1/4 mile usually). Factory solid lifters. 4 bbl carb, had a wire rigged to the bellcrank on the carburator so that if you floored it, all 4 bbls kicked in early.

Got it used from the local Ford ealers son, who got a Mustang the first year they came out ('64 I think).

Sold it, got married and went to VietNam all in the same week.

Life has not been boring...

I never owned any of the muscle cars you guys have (Wish I did) but the car I would like to have back was my 1989 Mustang LX 5.0

My current 2003 Mustang Cobra does help me forget about it though.

That's one I DON'T want back. Mine was a piece of junk. However, about the same time I had a '48 Chevy Stylemaster sedan. I loved that car. Wish I had been able to keep it. I'd also kind of like to have my '76 FJ-55 back. Had a custom Illinois rust job on that one, but it would go anywhere.

truck, it was a great car. just had to dismantle part of the right front sheetmetal to change the oil filter though, like every 1500 miles so said pontiac.

My second car was a 1983 Mustang G.T. hatchback. First year with the five speed. Mine was dark grey, had 10 hole later model LX polished wheels, and it's last iteration motor was a nice shortblock that I bought from Racing Head Service in Memphis with a set of Dart Windsor Jr. iron heads that had a nice port job, Chevy valves, and screw in rocker studs all set up when I bought them. That car a an equally nice 270 duration cam that gave it a really cool idle thru the Cyclone headers and Flowmaster mufflers. Came from the factory with Recaro style sport seats with the net headrests and an AM/FM cassette with Premium Sound. The premium sound apparently was a knob under the dash that you pulled and it got louder and deeper. Didn't matter, car sounded and ran too damn good for a radio anyway, especially after I put in a bigger 8.8 rear end from a later model, had a custom driveshaft built, and installed 3.55 gears in place of the 2.73's. Not a monster muscle car, but a damn sight faster than a lot of them in the late Eighties/early Nineties!

There is no car that I wish I still had, but there is a car that I wish my father had never sold. It was a supercharged Auburn Boat-tail Speedster.

When I was a jr. in high school, I bought a 29 mod A pickup for 175 dollars, drove it for over a year, when the tranny went out. sold it for 100 bucks and bought a 53 ford. Still brings tears to my eyes!!!!!!!!!!

The two that I wish I still had- a 1965 GTO and a 1969 Chevelle SS 396. THe Goat was the better looking car, IMHO, but the Chevelle ran like raped ape. And yes, I had the speeding tickets to prove it!

I had a '68 four-door that was my first car. Don't miss it so much, still have my 1987 Buick Grand National that I bought new. By the way, if anyone needs a Pontiac tri-power manifold and carbs, let me know. We might-could do some trading.
