To keep Gort from destroying Earth, what are the exact code words Helen Benson must speak to Gort?

1. Ixnay igbay oybay!

2. Blaatu kachanga fazool!

3. Klaatu barada nikto!

4. Frammis moshe dayan!

The Big Chase

Too easy, you say? Okay, try this:

When the Army is chasing down Klaatu, the general in charge directs the troops to implement:

1. Zone 2, Plan X

2. Zone 7, Plan R

3. Zone 6, Plan C

4. Zone 5, Plan B

An all time...Sci-Fi CLASSIC.

As previously mentioned in another TDTESS thread...Had they simply shot the 2008 stinker, word for word, scene for scene from the 1951 version...BUT used 2008 FX .....Would have been a great movie.

Don't know why, but i find myself watching that movie at least once a year as long as i can remember .... Gort was just a tall man in a rubber suit and simple, but was a really impressive robot, left a lot to the imagination, not like today's erector set robot . From what i read Helen had to control herself from laughing when she had to give Gort his orders :D

3. Klaatu barada niktoo!
but note in the cab she says Klaatu barada niktow then when she gets to Gort she also says niktow, glad that wasn't the code word for destroy earth.

I first saw that movie at a drive-in in 1957 when my parents were young. ;););)

Thus began my life-long obsession with science fiction and questioning what we know. I'm a better person because of it.

I could have lived with it....

Love the original, later remake with Keanu Reeves one of the worst ever.

But their concept of Gort was VERY disappointing. Even in the old movie, seeing Gort was and IS STILL awesome. Why? He was understated. He didn't have to do much, you just knew that he was beyond dangerous and that disappearing those tanks and troops was just a little taste of what he could do. And I still love the 'eye' light when his visor opened. It's like 'OH ****, HERE IT COMES!"

The only thing the remake had that was better than the original is it was in color.

A breeder I know names her dogs after scifi characters. Now I know where Klaatu came from! :D
