I tend to examine leaders by their actions and accomplishments and less by who they are or flowery speeches. I wish him the best of luck, but in my view...as with every other world leader...I'll wait and see. Who knows? He may surprise me.
While I am not an adherent to that faith there are millions who look to the Pope for spiritual guidance.
It seems he is an advocate for bringing younger families into the fold.
For that I pray for his success.

A Pope is accountable to God, not man. Leo XIV is of the Augustinian Order, the first Pope from that Order.

It's just a title, although it's also a very "political" one when it comes down to it. Being raised as a Southern Baptist, I find "Pope worship" difficult to understand. He's a man with a lot of political power for sure,.........but he's still just a man in a very high ranking position.

...as a retired Baptist pastor I will be praying for him. One thing about Baptists is that the phrase "organized religion" is an oxymoron for us.

No surprise there. The Church seems to have become very anti-gun in recent decades...
In the Catholic Church, the Pope is not "just a man in a high-ranking position", though I can understand why folks of other faiths might view him that way...
