Those aren't millenials. That generation is in their 30s and up to 40. Probably Gen Z.
They're idiots sure. But so are those that constantly fall back on blaming the younger generations. Who do you think raised them?

My kids can start a fire without a match, know how to use a paper map and a compass. Both can drive a stick-shift, cook on gas, electric and on a campfire.
They can shoot straight....and know when not to shoot at all.
Perfect?
No, but they are each a single gender that know that the world doesn't owe them a thing and that if they want it bad enough it's worth working for.
I'm PROUD of my kids. 27 year old daughter and a 30 year old son.
They even know righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.

I have 4, 37-42 I too taught them the above. But the truly important thing is: THEY ARE TEACHING THEIR KIDS!
I worked them on the farm or at my business until they could get summer jobs and jobs after school! They all earn top dollar in their fields because, they know how to work hard and actually get something done!
And they make their kids do the same!

My kids are 42 and 44, and they can do all those things as well. They are both professionals and are well educated and well taught. But it was because WE helped make them that way.
You know, after pondering this thread for awhile, and reading the comment about blacksmithing, I think maybe we were too harsh on the kiddies.
I can remember back when I was 6 and mom taught me how to use a can opener. The first time I didn't know how. If someone today had seen one for the first time, maybe they would have to work on it for awhile.
Same with a rotary phone. I'm guessing that they were made obsolete back in the 70's. So, if you were a teenager now and had never seen one, maybe it would be a foreign object as well.
Anyway, I surely hope that the young generation isn't really stupid - just uneducated.
If there's ever a war needing the reinstatement of conscription, these kids are nothing but cannon fodder.

The video reminds me of a joke I often tell: Imagine a desert island with a group of college administrators and a lifetime supply of canned food. They'd starve to death in a week because they wouldn't be able to decide who should chair the committee tasked with writing the policy on the use of the can opener.

We rented cars from the authorized GSA contractor.

We're doomed all right. A bunch of folks have made it to retirement age without being able to recognize a fake video.
Even a cursory glance at news stories over the past several years will clearly indicate that the "younger generation" doesn't have a monopoly on being gullible and dumb...

Last night we had a small party at my house (8 people) and at 11:00 pm I turned the TV on to watch the Dick Clark Times Square event. After watching it for 30 minutes I KNEW we are doomed! UGhhh!

More people desire things and production rises to meet demand. I wonder why population increase is NEVER mentioned as the cause of climate change?

I realize our parents thought we were far out of the loop and their parents probably thought that way of them as well. But NOW...... all I can say is WOW! What we've witnessed over the last few years is just over the top!

That concept was mentioned, but only in passing, in "An Inconvenient Truth". After reading the book I wondered why it was not strongly emphasized. Of course, Al has 4 kids, so it would have been self-incriminating.
I was educated in the early days of the environmental movement. WE certainly recognized it. In fact, the theme back then was ZPG (zero population growth). Many of us took the pledge to have no more than 2 kids.

Only that population that believes Climate Change is a natural phenomenon of Mother Nature and only peripherally…if at all…affected by man…is considered a cause.

Now that you mention it, I didn't think of that at the time.
My wife is a substitute high school teacher. You would not believe the stories she comes home with day after day. To me, this video simply looked like another day in her life at school.
