The M-69 Snub

My best guess is the official unveiling at the shot show and release for order by distributors after that. My favorite LGS has a standing order to call me as soon as he gets one.

Me too, and the M66 snub as well....and a Ruger No. 1 in .44 Mag, but you probably don't care about that one :)

I think that would be to much of a handfull unless you are planning on shooting 44 special in it. Even with 44 special it would be a handfull!

It's on the S&W sight. Model 69 2.75". Also the 66 snub.

Looking forward to the 2.75" 69. Set of Spegel grips, and a midrange 44 Mag load of a 220 HP at 1100fps should be a great set up for town or field.

Now if someone would develop a "dedicated speedloader" for the 69!

Here's a speedloader designated specifically for the M69. No personal experience and I don't know if the cartridge retention system is substantial enough for field use. I do have the 22 version which works fine.

44 Magnum Speed Loader | 44 Mag Speed Loader |Speed Beez

Can't wait for the M69 & M66-8 snubbys to become available.

I don't really have any use for a 44 magnum that short. The 4" is short enough. I'd take the 2 3/4" for a 44 special home defense gun though.

In that case there's also the GP 100 .44 special, with a 3" barrel.

It will be my next buy. A hot .44 special load will be fine for defense. The first thing I'll try is the speed loaders for my Charter Arms Bulldog. Probably too small but worth the try. I would like to see a full lug. But I won't complain.

They don't work. I tried my Bulldog speedloaders with my 69, but no luck.

The only pictures on the website are from the right, of course, so you don't see the lock. There are plenty of short barreled N frame .44 mags out there, if you don't like this lightweight 5 shot version buy one of those.

I'm planning on picking one of these up. Been wanting a 3" 629, but have just about thrown in the towel on getting one with the barrel and cylinder I want (fluted and traditional barrel).

Had a 3" M29, had no problems shooting it with 240 gr 44 Mag loads.

Also have a 396 Mountain Lite in 44 Special. No problems shooting it either, using 165 and 200 grainers.

Unlike the 396, at least the M69 snubbie has a full length ejector rod. As much as I like my 396, the cases do not clear and have to be plucked out one by one. This seriously impairs a reload. And it's not like the barrel length precluded a full length ejector rod. S&W put a short ejector shroud on it. They should have used the ejector profile of the 3.5" M27.
