It's illegal for us to get on a commercial airplane and yell "bomb!". It's illegal to go into a crowded movie theater (back when movie theaters were crowded) and yell "fire!". Yet, that is essentially what the national media is doing every day by the way they're reporting on COVID-19 for the primary purpose to generate mass fear rather than useful information.

Go ahead and flog your whipping boy, OP. Maybe it will take your mind off the fact that this pandemic IS scary, dangerous, destructive, unprecedented in this day and time, a deadly threat to thousands of people including some of our most vulnerable, a national emergency for which we missed crucial opportunities to lessen its impact, and a worldwide health challenge for which there is no relief in sight until a vaccine is found.

I for one am grateful we have media to report this and to give it the attention it desperately requires.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay home.

Freedom of the press is hugely important but...

...far, far more people RECOVER from being affected by Covid-19 than those who succumb to it. The media rarely, very rarely, reports those numbers. One must extrapolate that fact.

Be safe.

I f, I am in the house the T.V. is turned on to one of the Major cable news channels, generally this is just for background noise.
The news channels provide a Necessary and Valuable service, but they realize that fear and drama sells. I.e. CNN reported that Dr. Fauci stated that life in the United States would never be the same after the pandemic was over. What Dr, Fauci stated was unless we develop a vaccine to stop/limit the virus, life would not return to the pre pandemic levels we knew. Big misspeak on the part of CNN.

I understand the reason for and Support a Free and Open press, but I think sometimes the Press forgets that it has the responsibility to report the facts correctly and to stop Cherry Picking information that fits their political agendas.

They say you cannot make a perpetual motion device.

Perhaps not but the media is as close to that concept as can be.

They publish/put on the air their spiel and the other media people/politicians use it, enhance it and it goes around & around and the beat goes on!

I think the virus is WAY overblown. When this is over I think the developing data will show Americans have been suckered.

Yes, but selfish self centered seniors with underlying conditions are afraid...isn't that just cause to trash the constitution, strip civil liberties, destroy the worlds #1 economy, and leave our children and future generations a hopeless future where repo sales and foreclosures will be the new growth industry? But don't dare suggest a magazine limit...that would be unacceptable!!!

The Greatest Fear is Fear Itself

One needs to understand this Virus is serious.

Anyone see that video made by a Reporter, going around
filming Hospitals/Care Centers and confronting Workers;
asking where are the patients over running their Facilities?

We see the number of Deaths, but very little is spoken about what underlying problems the Patient had.

Interesting.

Ya, the has virus only known to have killed over 2000 people in the last 24 hours and 20,000 in the last month. Why would they want to bring that to anybodies attention. It might make anybody with much of an IQ nervous.

Ya think?

Montana has population of 1,068,778 and has 354 confirmed cases with 6 deaths.

354/1,068,778 = 0.00033121939 % of pop w/ confirmed corona cases

You have got your panties in a wad over this?

6 Montana deaths from wuflu and 9 deaths from reg flu and you're wanting to end commerce and life as we know it? Willing to put 20,000,000 wage earners out of work over this?

I think you have a political agenda. No way a gun guy in a can do state like Montana is going to panic over a flu bug. ;)
