The most accurate Smith & Wesson auto...

Sevens, you have a beautiful collection. Thinking about testing the 952 waters, but yikes - the price of admission is steep. Have a 52-2 and love it - no pc guns yet though, and your threads are tempting me. Any thoughts on a 952-1 vs. 952-2? From what I’ve seen recently, some big price differences.

The 952-1 is the blued, carbon steel model. I prefer it.

Definitely need to pick up a few PC guns...

I don't think so, personally.

I've had a 52 for years. It doesn't outshoot my best PC autos. It's accurate, no doubt, but people tend to get a bit carried away, in my opinion.

This is very true! Shooting bullseye for years, I have never seen anyone do anything spectacular with one. I have a good friend that I competed with for 10 yrs. He used to shoot a High Standard Trophy for 22, a M52 for CF, and a Gold Cup for 45. His CF and 45 scores really held him back.
He replaced the Gold Cup with a Les Baer 6" barrel wadcutter model. His 45 scores went way up, matching his 22 scores. His CF scores remained at least 50 to 75 pts lower with the 52. Finally, he decided to just use the Baer for CF and 45. His scores finally went up to where he got out of Sharpshooter and became Expert.

Those PC longslide 952s are something else, though!

I am getting use with the feeling of S&W 52-1 that I use in competition ( 30+30 at 25 meters) I recently I bought a S&W 952 so I ask my friend gunsmith to fit trigger and stirrup of the S&W 52 to have same distance: trigger to grip safety. The result.. a perfect clone to 52 model but in 9 mm Luger. In any case I still believe the 52 more accurate for the simple reason .38 wc more easy to shot and more accurare that 9 Luger on 952

That is a Really Nice Collection of 9mm ' Firearms. I especially like all the stainless ones with wood grips myself. They always seem to feel better in my hands as well also.

The 845 of 1998 caught my eye. I saw the 845 and had to buy it to shoot IPSC. The 845 was the perfect pistol for me, a dedicated single-action competition gun that felt just like my 4506 duty gun. A DA/SA 4506 isn’t the ideal IPSC gun. The 845 was tight and the nitrate coated bushing combined with a match barrel locked up tight. It was accurate with my 200 gr swc pushing 172 pf. I jumped from C to B Class very quickly.

Unfortunately, I sold it and a Springfield 1911 to buy my first Les Baer PII to make A Class. I still have the PII ;)
