Whats not to like??? Its a slim, single stack, lightweight, accurate, 10 mm power house! Its been bobbed of all controls and is DAO. Cool... It passes my inspection as one of the best S&W pistols ever and its all metal for God's sake!!! No plastic Toys R Guns here folks. Am I dreaming? Is this a thing of the past?? Well yes it is sir. To bad so sad.. Only problem with these pistols is that parts can be sometimes hard to find I guess... Though I can get 40 S&W easily anywhere.
Whats your favorite???

What's my favorite?? Jeez, I can't pick just one!

My wife asked my for a permanent bedside handgun for her to keep so I say, "Sure. Auto or revolver?" She says, "It doesn't matter to me...anything you have is fine." I must have gotten a deer in the headlight look because after a few seconds she says, "You don't have one you can live without?" to which I replied, "I'm thinking!" I didn't know she wanted one of mine. In the end I went out and bought her a Shield. Of course I had to clean it and field test it prior to turning it over so now it has grown on me and is still in my safe...she has my 9c on loan but I see another Shield in our future...gotta get that 9c back!

If I couldn't pick one out for my lovely wife it sure ain't happening here! But here's a pic of my 3954...one of my many favorites.:p

It ain't a Smith, but if you're looking for a compact single stack 10mm. I have and carry from time to time a Dan Wesson CCO configuration 10. It's a dandy.

Nine shot all steel 10 mm with it's cousin a Gummint model. Single action but they get the job done.

I think I must have had that same "deer in the headlight" look too, when my wife asked for a pistol. I couldn't decide on what to give up either, so I started looking into it. I bought her a Taurus P11 G2, and while cleaning and verifying it's reliability, I decided I wanted one! It fits in the same holster as my Shield, and holds 5 more rounds!

Now it's not the most perfect auto pistol ever, but it's been pretty good so far. I know my 3rd gen S&W autos are much better built, and much better looking. I thought the 3913 NL (or the Lady version) were the best looking guns I'd ever seen when they came out. It took me almost 30 years to get one. But they have to be a contender. :D

I saw a 1086 for sale in a pawn shop 17 years ago for $400.00 plus tax.

I passed on it as I had the Dan Wesson on order.. I still kick myself for letting that one get away.
