THE NEW MUSIC THREAD

Wish I knew how to post those thingies in the middle of the page that play a song when you click on the widdle arrow. Oh well, guess I'll have to listen alone.

I think I am the only one here that thinks Bob Wills is still the king and that Tommy Duncan was a fantastic singer or that Hank Snow and I'm Movin' On is great.

Sighhhhh, a little out of touch, I guess.

Cream - White Room (Royal Albert Hall 2005) (17 of 22) - YouTube

Before we got married (in 1978), I told my wife that if Cream ever reformed I was going to see them and money was no object. She agreed (probably thinking it would never happen).

In 2005 when they did perform 4 shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London, a couple of bandmates and I flew to London to see them. We had tickets for 1 show and managed to get tickets over there for a second show.

When I arrived at Heathrow and went through immigration, they asked the usual business or personal question. I answered by saying that it was personal and that I was there to see the greatest rock band in history. The immigration agent laughed and stamped my passport. I later read that over 50% of the tickets for those 4 shows were purchased by Americans. Immigration at Heathrow had become used to all these Americans saying they flew to London just to see a concert.
