The Old Model Ruger Super Blackhawk!

Great info, great read and great thread! My SBH is not as pretty as the ones pictured here, but it's solid as a rock. Here is it accompanied by my Single Six. The SBH is from 1962 and the Single Six is from 1959. Do the stocks on my SBH look correct for a gun from '62?

Hard to tell without physical inspection, but from your photo, I'd have to guess that the stocks have been refinished (note the dishing around the Ruger emblem). The original finish would have been varnish - maybe a bit more shine than I see here. In 1963, the same walnut stocks were oil finished, giving them more of a satin look. Again, a photo can't substitute for an in-hand look-see.
