As a boy, I was able to associate with 3 great-grandmothers and 1 great-grandfather. They had all been born between 1890 and 1900, but died in their 70s and 80s. Both grandfathers, died in their 60s (both smokers), but my grandmothers made it to 91 and 92. The father of my dad's BIL (my uncle) made it to 97, so he probably is the oldest. He was a C-47 radioman in WW2 - dropped 2 sticks of paratroopers on D-Day. He was awarded some sort of medal from France when he was 95 and we went to the ceremony.
