The Ongoing Saga of Rich Wyatt

We visited Gunsmoke while visiting our daughter in Colorado. It was quite a place with very friendly people. His wife and Paige weren't there, big disappointment for me. My wife had a good time!

Got a feeling there is more to the story, wish him and his family the best.

Yea....like many other people, it probably started with the IRS!

Or someone in the alphabet soup knew about him on paper and then saw the show. There have been a few folks who weren't supposed to be doing whatever it was that they were doing on tv and got caught.

It seems that their store was broken into in 2013 and guns were stolen but the IRS had an investigation on him prior to that. There is some discrepancy in tax filing going back to 2006. Also Wyatt apparently is not the owner, Victor Rodriguez is but has no hand in day to day operations. There seems to be a lot of gray areas

Seems like gun store tv show stars seem to end up with legal problems!
The guy in Louisiana, Red Jacket Firearms or something?
This about Gunsmoke star.
Wasn't there something about Wild West Guns star?
Watched an ad for the Gunfather, and seems to follow the same format as the others on reality TV. Crazy situations, weird employees, strange relatives, outlandish guns, etc.
Maybe why Rick on Pawnstars doesn't handle firearms later than 1898?

Will from Red Jacket was a different story. Some one came forward with child molestation accusations which were initially denied but then became apparent that it was true

I seem to recall something about paperwork and full auto guns not being up to snuff, consigned guns not being returned, taxes not filed nor paid...
I had been in there a few times before they became notorious, nice employees and got a great deal on an old model 60.

How is that not a legal problem?
I believe Will also had problems with his FFL, and some issues involving some of the guns he was selling and manufacturing? Did not one of his employees then carry the FFL?
"...According to TMZ.com, during a routine inspection by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in 2009, Red Jacket could not account for ten registered firearm parts. In a settlement, William Hayden and Stephanie Hayden surrendered their gun-making licenses and were allowed to choose a licensed individual to control Red Jacket. Initially, that person was Vincent Buckles, but Buckles has left the company and now two other individuals control the company...

Dallas Fort Worth airport incident
In September 2011, Jupiter Entertainment, the Sons of Guns production company, made the evening news when its staff member, on the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, parked a rental truck, containing automatic weapons and pyrotechnics, outside the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport while waiting for a colleague. Part of Terminal B was closed for several hours while the FBI investigated but found no wrongdoing. An executive of the production company said he regretted the incident and blamed it on "a simple yet colossal error in judgement by a member of our staff..."

I ment that it was unrelated to firearms but I had forgotten about his loss of FFL

I think Wyatt was crying poverty while choppering around the state with bags of cash buying expensive guns.

Nothing like a bag of cash to get some unwanted attention.

Reality TV is not interested in you if you are normal, functional, and conventional. You make bad TV. If they suspect that you are not a potential trainwreck, they will excuse you and move on to the next candidate. Bill S

Was an interesting show at times. But he talked way too much during them. Watched half the shows on mute.
Must of been foresight.

And how often did he jump into a helicopter, with a bag of cash, to go meet some fellow and buy his guns.
