The Only Box of .357 in Town

Just bought it - it's all I could find. It is Remington 180 Gr. SJHP RE357M10. Nickel cases.

Does anyone have any experience with it? I would shoot it out of K Frame Model 66's. I needed to get something to practice with and then have some "brass" on hand to reload with 158's.

Any limitations on what barrel length 66's this would be usable with?

And, at least until I find something else, would it make a decent self defense round? It sure was expensive enough!

It's a good hunting round, excellent penetration on game. Should be just fine on any K frame.

Too heavy to be ideal for self defense. It will work though.

I bought the only box of these that I have seen this year at farm supply store in Maryville. High priced as I recall. My son sighted-in and carried these in a GP100 when deer hunting. He wanted to try it on a doe and as backup for his Ruger #1. One-shot 8-pointer so didn't get any practical experience. I plan on using them in my 6" Model 19 next season.
