Hello everybody, I am very new to the MP 15-22 game I actually just discovered this phenomenon last week while scrolling YouTube looking at slide fire videos for my DPMS when I came across all of the 15-22 videos. I lasted about 3 days before I broke down at went to cabelas to buy one to start this build. So I have done some research I no I need the slidefire stock obviously and the cmc trigger. What my issue is everyone seems to have a lot of different suggestions on what set up to run exactly. So my question is to everyone who has done the build what set up are you guys running? What works the best? What is the perfect bump fire set up? Pic below of my 15-22 and DPMS orical

Only issue you'll have is eating up your ammo and your barrel.

Here is mine.

^^^^What he said.

One thing I will say is that I wanted my gun to function flawlesly. Alot of people have jams on the first few shots becasue with a full magazine the gun is simply too heavy to function flawlessly. If you have to keep starting the bump fire two or three times thats more of a burst fire function and that isnt what I was looking for.

Step 1 is lighten up your gun. You can add scopes, grips, pods, lasers, lights etc after you can get the gun functioning properly but these add ons are the biggest mistakes I see.

Step 2 Pick the right magazine. For me its the black dog drum without a doubt. The Promags & Plinker Mags are prone to feeding issues and the oem mag is just too limited for me. The black dog drum functions flawlessly and has double the capacity of factory mags.

Step 3 Oil your bolt correctly. The less friction you have the better but at the same time too much lube and your gun will foul quickly and cause feeding issues

Step 4 lighten your trigger pull, I have the CMC Trigger and I honestly want to go to a lighter trigger to see if it will help the gun as I think the CMCM 3.5LB trigger is about the bare minimum you would need to have to start to get the gun functioning.

Step 5 ammo choice. I have made my gun fire with golden bullets and high end stuff like Stingers, Interceptors, velocitors, mini mags etc. Round nose functions best but generaly cost more then the bulk hollow point packs. Just know the higher the velocity the better the kick and the better and faster the gun will function.

Step 6 Slide fire bits. Dont get fooled into buying the butt pad for the 15-22 its uselss extra weight but you will want the stock of your choice and the recoil enhancer at the muzzle

Step 7 Fix S&W's mistakes. Replace the extractor with a volquarsten extractor to cut down on stove pipes, FTF etc and to all around make a more reliable gun.

Step 8 Customize the gun for you. I have the odin works extended mag release and the ndz sbr lever as these pieces just help me quickly burn through ammo and they make the gun look very impressive both at idle and while shooting through mags. Ill get a video this weekend of what I mean.

Step 9 THis is the step I am on. Lightening the gun anywhere you can, cutting the barrel down, cutting down the hand guard and polishing the bolt & rails.

Step 10 after cutting your barrel down and making it an SBR why not add a supressor and all of this should lead you to the best gun possible.

As for optics I have made the gun function with a CQB scope, with a red dot and with mag pull flip ups but by far the lighter the better so I would recommend a mini red dot or the flip ups. I have seen others function with a scope and with a grip but their guns hardly ever run from the first shot to the last consistently.

Hope this helps. Here is my gun with golden bullets.

With interceptors.

Notice how the gun never hicups or needs to be restarted during the burst. Also the inteceptors have 200 more fps so you can see how the gun burns through them better then the remington golden bullets.

Hope this helps.
