The question goes beyond firearms as far as I'm concerned. I've got somethings that have been in the family or in existance for 200+ years etc. I've impressed and expressed to my kids, sure they are valuable. But they're not worth anything, cause they'll never be sold. Some are valuable for their monetary value, others sentimental value.
My guns fall into that category for sure. I've got the 1911 dad carried in WWII, and a Luger and Mauser that he liberated when they captured Erfurt. As for the others, it was too hard to get them to get rid of them.
