The rarest S&W.....

These Model 26-1s are pretty rare--about 39 made in .45 Colt. Think 5" M27 with a bigger hole!

While mine may not be sought after it's certainly rare. Besides the one I have I've only seen one other picture and mention of it.

10 1/2" S&W 500 two tone unlfuted cylinder.

I don't have the financial means to obtain any really rare Smith's, and the one that I do have is certainly not as rare as several of the others listed here. But, I did manage to get a hold of a new in the box, with all the papers, and unopened tools, 24-3 4". I believe there was only around 2650 of these made. Like I said not as rare as some of the others, but they are beautiful revolvers, and finding them in this shape will, hopefully, be harder to find in the future. I also have a the 3" Lew Horton with box and papers, though this one gets shot and I carry it often. It has one of the best actions out of all the guns I carry. It is almost as easy to shoot this gun DA as it is SA. There are several people who have had bad experiences with the 24-3's, and I have read some of their posts on here, but I just love them. I would like to get the 6.5" to complete the set. Then I can go after the 624's

Medium Rare:

M60-1 with target sights. Only 600 made?

Doesn't matter. My eyesight is too bad for regular J frames.

Hey, I have one of those. I fell in love with the finish and the unfluted cyl. BDS251X

There are several rare ones that I want but do not own yet. One of the two 7 1/2" Model 57s comes to mind. As does the 8" 627 Hunter along with the factory model 942 that was given to Wiley Clapp.

Rare ones that I already own, only the SIGMA SW40Ti comes to mind. I was told that 5 of the prototypes were made.

I have several commemeratives that are one of 50. Plenty of Distributor exclusives that are one of 100, or 200, etc. But I do not consider those that rare.

Revolvers are my passion but I do have a 4054 of which 154 were made before switching over to the 4013 and 4014 only..bought it new on sale from a dealer who was trying to unload it..probably not as exclusive or worth as much as some of the beauties here but it is rare as far as numbers made goes..all5x
