The Stylish Man’s Guide to Concealed Carry

At last!

Finally, when I thought all hope was lost, some truly useful information in the Forum. :p

Seriously, I found the guide spot on. It even noted the "bad idea" of *** carry and the "I have a gun" camera vest.

They did, however, fail to note the absolute importance of one's OWB holster matching one's belt. (The photos did show the correct match, though.) I am a bit more concerned with that than some and totally refuse to rock an OWB not the same color as my belt. (And one's belt must always match one's shoes. Everybody knows that.) :D

Be safe.

PS:

Never, ever, ever, ever wear suspenders with a belt.

good http:, gas station, food store, taking out the garbage, but everyday it still comes back to what holster that is comfortable, rentention if possible, access to if the need, xtra mag. or speed loader location. shirts are the best CC carry approiate, my 2 cents. i do wear t shirts alot. took out a black vest i used when i rode 38 years ago. it has seemed to shrink! smiley faces never work for me. winter coming, best shirt is a heavy flannel shirt w/ the sleeves cut off. it just looks like a vest. not to hot. and taken off easly. usually don`t wear a jacket until it gets in the 20`s. shoulder holsters, will try w/ a suit, and a blazer. a winter holster for sure. so as far as fashion, most old guys wear what is comfortable.

"... most older guys wear what is comfortable." As an older guy (mid 60's) I have to agree. The only time I'm out of my jeans and tee shirts is when I need to wear a flanel shirt. Getting older does have its compensations . . . .

You had me right up to the talk to your tailor part. :) Yiogo

Not too bad overall, but they showed a belt holster while writing about paddle holsters.

But really, how can you even pretend to be stylish while wearing a Glock?

I would like to point out that The Men's Warehouse tailors sport and suite coats for free at purchase and some places for life. I bought a suite at Christmas a few years ago and had it fit around me with a Sig 229 iwb at 5:00 position (same holster will hold the 220's). There was an added $15 charge for a "Gun patch", which is an added layer of satin lining on the gun side. When I get back to work regularly, I plan on a sport coat on sale. Sometimes I want more than a J-frame in my pocket. Ivan

Agree with the OP, despite a few quibbles here and there it's nice to see carry in a mainstream article and those who choose to carry treated as normal people and not gun nuts. The idea of white collar professionals carrying as a matter of choice is a step forward from the "chewing tobacca and rifle racks" image we often receive.

Not a bad post from my view point.

Food for thought on several levels. I find pocket carry of backup or evne primary works well for many situations for weak side carry with primary on strong sight carry for OWB or IWB.

In the end carry the most potent gun(s) you can to protect yourself and your love ones.

Lately I've been going with wrangler blue jeans, wrangler camp shirts, & Khaki 511 tactical vest. Not stylish, and might get people to suspect gun, but it ain't open carrying, its comfortable, and the pockets are handy. I think the only people who think about this are us. If someone knows guns they will pick out that 511 vest and say "I bet he is carrying." But anyone else who doesn't know guns, and doesn't like them wont really do the math.
