An interesting post. I purchased a S&W 17-3 a number of years ago that came with the Target Trigger/Hammer and Magna grips .
I had just assumed that it would originally have come with the 3 T's and that perhaps someone had swapped the grips out at some point.
In any event I never did like the smaller Magna grips ....they just didn't provide me with a comfortable grip and felt rather awkward to me.
I found a correct pair of beautiful target grips which look real nice on my Model 17 and are more comfortable .
