Sold my 17-2 tonight to fund this K22. I'll miss the 17-2 but it was nothing special, magnas with narrow trigger and semi target hammer. It 98% in its original box though and I hate selling guns as nice and complete as that one was.

But 5 screws, a tapered barrel, and 2-T's are better, so I'm happy.

Your 17-2 looks pretty special to me! I’d have been very hard pressed to let it go. But your older K22 is a nice looking revolver, too. Congratulations on finding what you were looking for. :)

For actual shooting, I’ve always preferred the standard trigger and hammer in the K-frames. K22s/M17s are about perfect revolvers just as they normally came from the factory. Some day I’d like to round up a .22 Outdoorsman to go with my very modest assortment of K22s, but haven’t gotten that done - yet. ;)

I think your 17-2 looks very special, nearly mint. I also like magna grips and the std hammer and trigger on K frames. My 1952 K 22 has them. The one you acquired looks to have been fired a lot more than the one you sold. Your decision but I would have kept the 17-2.

Incidentally, the 17-2 auctioned off for 30% more than I paid for the K22.
