The ubiquitous Model 10

It's difficult to follow the show stopping pics of SmithNut, but I appreciate the model 10 as do the rest of you.
My first was a finish challenged M&P snub, followed by a beautiful 10-2, a 10-5 snub and a service trade in 10-6.
They're all great shooters.
The model 10 has been described on this forum, maybe not as eloquently as SaxonPig has, but simply as offering everything you need and nothing you don't.
I couldn't agree more.

Mike later made a couple cabinets that used drawers to hold the firearms in a different manor, while still being secure and alarmed they provided somewhat quicker access due to not using the same steel bar through the trigger guards of the firearms.

Your cabinets are super nice!! Mike must have used some very heavy duty drawer slides. I figure the weight of the drawer filled with revolvers must be pretty substantial.

What's significant about 1968-69? Were you possibly enjoying sunny Vietnam then? Maybe a helo pilot or crewman? They used a lot of round-butt Model 10's.

I've forgotten that the Viet Nam war is pretty much ancient history. Back then we Army folks, called the flying machines choppers. Actually the model 10 I had was brand new in the box when I received it. I had a western type holster with ammo loops, but after a back problem developed (ammo pressing against armor plate all day long), I switched to a shoulder holster. I carried a full box of 50 of spare ammo in the puke pocket of my chicken plate.

IMHO, anyone who deserves to become shot, should become shot with a M&P or Model 10. A 4" pencil barrel was my first issued gun. That could be said by a lot of the old Coppers on this Board.

Picked up mine yesterday. Dates to around 1955 and the wear makes me think it used to be a police issue. Action is buttery smooth though
