The Ultimate Cigar Lounge build thread

Gonna enough💰💰left over to buy cigars? Sure hope so. 🤞🤞

Be safe.
Absolutely hope so, I might be smoke'n used cigars by then. lol
I still have a ways to go, but including the furniture, some furnishings and the door, I have less than $1,000 in it so far, not bad imo? The only thing I won't be doing myself is installing the mini-split HVAC.

Wow; that number is surprisingly low. Makes your project even more amazing.

"I smoke old stogies I have found. Short, but not to big a'round…"

Looking good! That lock set is nice!

Some of the verdigris you see here is real (lions head) and some is paint (Clavos and door pull), but notice the difference it makes on the door pull's definition compared to that without?
Even the rust on the speak easy grill and door knocker bolt heads is faked... lacquer & cinnamon.
Next big update... the walls!

I'm still cipherin' on your lower latch/knob. The rim lock, when engaged, keeps the door locked. The latch underneath looks to slip over its ramped lip on the jam when the door closes, but I can't really see how you open it from the out side. Can you turn the ring and raise the latch bar from the outside?

Yes, that's exactly how it works.
It'll only twist from either side so far because it's captured in the "keep" from the back.
Unlatches and latches with a most gratifying click too from either side, yet the door latches on its own when shut, no need to lift the latch yourself.
keep.webp

I know you don't want it, but it needs to close with a ghostly squeak. :)

Thanks for the explanation.
Actually, I wanted the door to squeak, but the damn ball-bearing hinges prevents that!
Hopefully they'll rust in time and start to squeak. lol

Working on the walls, but still taking time out to seek hand-blown glass personal cigar ashtrays for each guest at the lounge.

The walls are going up.
1st practice sample, I'm pretty satisfied with the stones (left) color, and texture, but I believe I'll go with the bricks for my walls. Stone's color and texture looks good, but too symmetrical, bricks shapes okay, but not natural looking, I have some practice to do.
I think if I copy my hearth and do the stone shades I'll be happy, maybe?
Already know what I'm gonna do, I guess I just wanted to see it online and see what it looked like.
Feedback anyone?
