I appreciate the response MP1983. I am actually looking to sell the gun as I said I'm more interested in semi-autos. I'd like to get $450 out of it which shouldn't be a problem as the gun has only been fired a couple of times. The inside of the barrel is in perfect condition. I would also be interested in trading for a new or newer Taurus TCP and $200 cash if anyone lives near Tampa.
Cool. Thanks DB. I've already had several offers so far, but I will see if I can find the forsale forum and load up several pics..lol For all those still interested, the gun is all original, with the original wood stocks, it does not have the box or paperwork, but does come with the original holster that it was purchased with and a plastic hard case. You should list it for sale or trade in the For Sale forum here. Also post whether the stocks are original or not, if you have the box, documents, etc. Plenty of photos will help, too. I doubt you'll have any problem trading an early '70s Highway Patrolman for a Taurus.![]()
MP1983....
90% sure yours is an Old DPS troopers revolver.
All the ones I have come across had the same markings.
I found two Model 28's at a pawn shop yesterday, both in the $550.00 range. One is a 4 screw, S203XXX 6 inch no dash, probably 95% , the other a 4" 28-2, S304XXX, probably 90%+, neither have original grips. Fair price these days? I didn't get either, but they have both been sitting on the shelf for a while

I have one to contribute _ a 28-2, s/n N5928xx,4-inch. 3-screw, of course, I'm guessing from 1978-79.
