Where do your relatives in Colorado live? Kansas, Nebraska, Utah and Wyoming don't have the kind of nonsense you are facing in Colorado, maybe one of the surrounding states would be close enough to them for you to visit.

Yes, the waiting period is a complete waste of time and energy, but I suppose it was meant to be that. If it doesn't reduce the crime rate, will they repeal it? Not likely. I was wondering, though, if I buy a gun from a dealer, say in Denver, and wait the 3 days, can they then ship it to me directly, or would I have to go back and pick it up? The latter would sure put a crimp in buying out-of-town.

Was at LGS this morning for a gb sale. The nics computer system hasn't been updated to the three day rule. Owner is keeping a record of date and time check was made on paper, to avoid liability.

The lawsuit has been filed, I’m not optimistic it will be successful. Again, moving not an option for me. Firearms passed to immediate family members are not subject.

I lived briefly in Illinois, which also has a waiting period. I'm not entirely sure this was Kosher, but the FFL used to get the serial number of ordered guns from the wholesaler/seller and we'd fill out the paper work before the gun ever got there. It turned the shipping time into "waiting period" time.
The younger generations are being conditioned for socialism a little at a time so that they don't revolt. The socialist tactics are to lie and get laws passed that are only "feel good" and make no logical sense. Gun laws are easy to pass because so many younger people have an unfounded fear of guns. The socialists have figured out that the way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.
well, to be honest, it is a waiting period between purchase and you taking possession. I don't know the specific wording of that law, but if you paid for it, and it ships on the 1st, and you take possession on the 11th, how is that not a 10 day waiting period?

So late Friday afternoon I went to my shop for a purchase. Filled out the form and the clock begins-the interesting thing is they said even though the approval/denial/delayed response would come back in short order they won’t look at it until the 3 day (from the time of day it was submitted) period concludes. I probably can’t get back to the store until next Saturday with my work schedule. Grrrr.

I grew up in Florida and they have had a 3-day “cooling off period” since before I got into guns.
I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t eat, sleep, or pay attention in class during those three interminable days until I could pick up my latest toy.

Exactly, makes sense to me. But not a lot of dealers would do it for some reason. Maybe they do now. It has the same effect of a delay between the decision/transaction to purchase and delivery. Since Illinois has a 72 hour waiting period the gun usually didn't get there until after the time period was up.
