The wonderful world of J-frames!

I never go to the range without my 63, my only piece with a lock.

My J's

My J frame collection consists of a M63 no dash, M36-1 3" HB, M60-4 3" full lug and M940. I also have a new model 351C in 22 mag. They are all great little guns.

Are those the Altamont black/silver dymondwood smooth panel grips?

They were on my wife's M60 LadySmith. I replaced them with Craig Spegal's Boot Grips. They area type of Diamondwood, rosewood color w/S&W emblems

Wow, I'm also a big fan of the J frame. They are a go anywhere gun.
Thanks for sharing everyone.

Subscribed. I only own 1, a 642. I oredered a set of classic service walnut grips and they have been on backorder since Christmas. I will post up some before and after pics when I get them.

I see a lot of smooth grips on these guns, how does that affect the handling? My 442 still has the original checkered rubber but I sure like the looks of some of the grips Esmarelda makes.

Could someone possibly help me with some information? I have a revolver from my dad. It is marked on the barrel with ".38 S.A.W. CTG" and on the other side "SMITH & WESSON". Just below the cylinder are the markings on four lines "MADE IN U.S.A., MARCAS REGISTRADAS, SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD,MASS." On the opposite side by the cyclinder is the trademark. The serial number is visible when you open the cylinder and is 5 digits 08XXX with what looks to be club/clover and the letter J. Any information would be much appreciated! Thanks

In my old age my beloved EDC is a 640 no-dash .38 Special. Bought it used in exceptionally nice condition and have carried it daily for over ten years. I have Pachmayr Compac grips on it due to severely arthritic hands, and can shoot +p 158 grain LSWCHP quite comfortably.

I think the J-frame is just about the ideal combination of compact concealability, power, reliability, and simplicity of use and maintenance.
