Several months ago, a forum member put a nice belt up to some lucky winner. I won the belt.

6 week ago, a forum member said his daughter needed a new filet knife. I had a brand new USA made Schrade with leather sheath in my tool chest. Never used it, and I do not know how or when I got it. I sent it to him for a few dollars shipping.

The other day I placed an ad looking to buy an old Lyman Spartan Press. A forum member sends me a PM, and says he will give me one with accessories for shipping cost.

Hmmmmmmmm, random acts of kindness do pay returns!

Four years ago we were hit with a violent storm that caused a flood powerful enough to make the back-flow valves on the street sewer pipes fail. Our basement was three feet deep in raw sewage.

We lost everything down there. Food stores, clothing, photos, memorabilia, water heater, washer, dryer, furnace/AC, freezer, etc.

Insurance wouldn't cover because we live in a declared flood zone. The ensuing cleanup ordeal was a financial and bacterial nightmare.

I mentioned it to Fred and he rallied the forum. Within days donations and boxes of much needed items started pouring in. A member donated a very desirable Smith for Lee to auction off to help us.

We would not have recovered had it not been for the many, many good-hearted folks on this forum who represent a community that looks after its own.

None of us here at this address have forgotten nor will we ever forget.

Forever...thank you.

I have been on the receiving here plenty of times , especially when I was starting my S&W hobby .I now try to pay it forward . I work my way the Forum until I get to the wanted section . If I have something someone needs/wants , I help them out . Usually it's mags , but there's other stuff . I give it to them at my cost , sometimes less than . All I ask is of them to pay it forward .
First , it feels good to help others . Second , I feel like I'm helping two people . The one I helped , and the one that person will help . All in all , what a great place to be a part of .

Wow, what a story!!!!

I gave someone in need a $100 bill. The next day I cashed in a $1 winning scratch off. The clerk scanned it and it came up a hundred dollar winner. We both looked at it. It said $1

Last week, I fished with a guide in one of the top giant redfish fisheries anywhere -- the Neuse River/Pamlico Sound in eastern North Carolina.

As we were leaving the dock to motor out to the fishing grounds, he spotted a beer bottle floating in the water near shore, turned the boat around, and we came alongside and I plucked the bottle from the water.

"That's good karma," he said.

We got to where we were going to start fishing for the day, and within 20 minutes, this was in the boat.

Funny thing was, we didn't get another bite all day! :)

Yeah, I'm a firm believer that in doing good things, good things will come back to us.

We released it in perfect health, as required and as also the right thing to do.

Onomea, I get the joke, sure. There is a reason, though, why holding the fish this way is least damaging to it. The typical way anglers hold fish by the lower jaw, with the body hanging down, is actually harmful, especially for large fish, when they are out of the water. To return the fish in healthy condition after the "hero shot" photo, a minimum of handling done properly is the ticket. Nothing like seeing a large fish returned to the water and, after a few second of regaining its equilibrium, having its tail give a couple of powerful strokes as it returns to the depths.

The concept of "karma" seems to be one of the universal truths in this world (and I believe the world is a better place to live because of it).

I believe in Karma

I also believe that there are a lot of really great people involved with this site.

I do believe that whatever I do vibrates out into the universe and ripples back. Both good and bad. If I do something "bad" I am going to pay for it in some manner. I can see plenty of easy was to get money, but I firmly believe bad money nevver comes to good.

Its like drug dealers. Ya, for a while sometimes years, they live the good life, cars, women, big houses etc. But, eventually they lose, family, health, life, freedom. One way or the other, sooner or later, the bill comes due. Dying peacefully of old age with your family around you ain't in their cards.

I have a friend living in Finland that belongs to another forum. one day I PM him and he tells me a story about these two guys who worked with him. Seems they hatched a plan to take his business away from him. So he completes the story about how he started the business and the next day he had to go to court to plead his side of the story. I told him about Karma. How people try and do bad things to good people and Karma steps in and helps the good people. Couple days go by and not hearing from him I pm him to see how he made out. Seems the judge after hearing all the testimony and what came from the jury decided these guys were up to no good. Dismissed the case and let the two morons off with a very stern warning as he better not see them in his courtroom. My buddy says it's like a heavy weight was lifted from his shoulders. Seems Karma was looking out for my buddy. Frank
