Nice looking jakes!

I saw eight or ten hens and four nice toms in full strut in my neighbor's yard yesterday - makes me itchy for May!

The cool part was the noise the big one made by dragging his wingtips on the pavement. After listening to that for a while, and seeing his spikes, and realizing he could, in no time, fly in through my open window if he felt threatened enough, I put down my camera and left them alone.

I've only had the privilege of seeing wild turkeys (in the natural environ) a few times, but they are quite magnificent and awe-inspiring.

I live in a subdivision and looked out my back window and the back yard was full of wild turkeys. Must have been 30 of them. I think they live over on the farm thats behind my house.
