I bought my used M13-2 3" heavy barrel sometime in the early 80s from a local gun store for $165.
I still have it.

Same, purchased in 1985, paid $175.

I told the Lipsey's gang and AFR to tell Smith to make the 3 inch again. No lock, 38 sp and 357. They will sell thousands. Dumb to bring back the M10 and M36. There's enough new versions of the 36 etc with the UC models.

Time to sell a few maybe. :D

627-0

I was part of that mess but you have to scroll pretty far to find my bid. It was entertaining to watch.....from a distance.

There was a nice 627-0 on the gun slinger auction, I bid on it at the bottom end, actually it was very nice, box and every scrap of paper...

It all stopped slightly North of 3 grand,, ?? I'm currently after a nickeled, gunsmithed 44 Hand Ejector,, but I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to play in that league much longer. I mean its nice, its attractive, its a triple lock,, but boy... sometimes a relief when someone finally out bids you.

Gee, and did not even have box and docs! Someone with a lot money really wanted it bad.

You are a Philistine. One has Firestones.

Grips are very personal due to hand size and the like, but the M13 is a fighting gun. I came into shooting at a time when the utility of wood grips was ... questioned, and the first thing a serious shooter did was pitch the wood and put on rubber. Most of my revolvers have rubber because they are fighting pieces, not collector items. Most people should never see your guns anyway, so cosmetic interests are irrelevant.

Yow! I wouldn't pay that during a robbery, cheaper to wrestle with the robber for his gun.

A shill can't accomplish anything at all unless someone else is dumb enough to keep bidding higher and higher.

Personally, I wonder if this is one of those disruptive bidders who actually has no intention of ever completing the sale.

I've wanted a 3-inch 13 since back when the FBI was still using them. That and the fact they are fine guns is where I think they get their appeal from. And they have always been a bit more that I wanted to pay but that auction is getting crazy. All the 3-inch gun prices are strong.
