Thigh rig for a M&P 40

I am looking for a thigh rig that will accommodate a M&P with and without a light attached to the rail.

The Safariland holster will only work with the light attached

I don't think you'll find that'll work both ways. They have to make room for the light, but without the light the pistol can move around too much.

Did you look at Blackhawk or Specter Gear.

You will probably have to do something in ballistic nylon with straps you can loosen and tighten. A universal holster.

Safariland makes the same holster for the gun without the light. You might be able to order a holster body and use most of your current harness system.

Thanks. I looked at the Safariland website and saw they make a holster but specified that the model that accommodates the gun with a light will not accommodate the gun without the light. The fit for my G23 without the light is a bit sloppy but still adequate and that is what I was looking for.

I just hand my hands on a new Safariland ALS today. The holster retains the handgun both with and without the weapon light mounted. There is a small stud that engages the muzzle and a block for the ejection port. It locked up as tight with my Surefire mounted as without.

Blackhawk has the OmegaVI Ultra universal that will do the trick. You can also adjust the retention to the frame instead if the light.
